Priced at just PHP 4,999, this 8-inch tablet is promising more than what you'd typically expect in this segment.

TechLife Pad Lite 8” Review

The slate has LTE connectivity, a large battery, expandable RAM and storage, and even thoughtful extras like a detachable stand. From the looks of it, this tablet could be another hit from the brand. Join me in this review as we see how well it handles daily tasks, and find out who it’s really for.

Review Summary:

Pros

  • Big-value tablet under Php 5K
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • Detachable Arm Stand

Cons

  • Thick Bezels
  • Both speaker positioned at the bottom
  • Awkward audio jack position

Design

The TechLife Pad Lite 8” features a slim profile at just 8.5mm thick and weighs only 337.9 grams. Sure, you can consider it as a portable device. It is easy to handle and can slide into your cargo pockets. Its compact design is ideal for users who prefer a smaller device for travel, online classes, or casual entertainment. Likewise, the tablet fits easily into small bags or pouches and can be operated comfortably with one hand. If you're always on the go, this could be an ideal companion.

TechLife Pad Lite 8” Review - Design

In portrait orientation, the tablet positions the power button and the volume rocker on the right side. The 3.5-mm audio jack uniquely smacked on the upper right corner, which is a new thing for me. I wished it has a better placement but I guess this is one compromise to lower the price. The top side has the USB-C port and the SIM tray which are flushed on the left. There's no interface on the left side while the bottom side has the dual speakers.

Another unique feature is the detachable stand which comes out of the box. The stand is very useful especially if you like hands-free setup for watching videos, attending calls, or following cooking tutorials without needing extra accessories. However, the stand is made of plastic and could be dislodge easily, thus a proper care is needed when using this setup.

Display

The 8-inch LCD panel delivers an HD resolution of 800x1280 pixels. This is sufficient for streaming videos, reading articles, and browsing social media. What’s notable is its 90Hz refresh rate that's quite a rare feature in this price range. In turn, the table offers smoother scrolling and snappier UI transitions. This also gives the tablet a more responsive feel, which adds to the overall usability.

TechLife Pad Lite 8” Review - Display

The bezels surrounding the display are quite thick, but that does not take away the good quality of the panel. It has good contrast and details. Color saturation is also quite okay, as well as the viewing angle. The panel is also supported with Eye Comfort and Dark Mode features just in case you use this mainly at night. This screen is suited well reading ebooks, and browsing through social media.

Performance and Multitasking

Powering the device is the Unisoc T606 processor, an entry-level octa-core chipset that includes two Cortex-A75 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, all running at 1.6 GHz. It’s paired with 4GB of physical LPDDR4X RAM and offers up to 4GB of virtual RAM expansion for a total of up to 8GB available RAM. This setup allows the tablet to handle typical daily tasks such as web browsing, social media, video calls, online classes, and even light gaming.

For storage, the tablet comes with 64GB of internal memory, which is enough for most day-to-day needs. However, it also supports microSD expansion up to 1TB. This level of expandability ensures that users can store large amounts of media or school or work documents without worrying about running out of space.

TechLife Pad Lite 8” Review - Performance

You can play light to moderate games with this tablet. In fact, I tried running several sessions of Honor of Kings and the overall gameplay went smooth. The slate is ideal for casual gaming and daily tasks like browsing the internet, streaming content, and checking social media.

Audio and Multimedia Experience

As mentioned, the tablet has dual speakers which is quite good for multimedia consumption; it's also a great feat having dual speakers under Php 5k. The dual stereo speakers positioned at the bottom when held vertically. While they aren’t tuned by premium audio brands, the output is clear, loud enough, and sufficient for casual listening, video calls, and light gaming. Sound is balanced for its size, and it performs well in quiet environments.

Additionally, the device retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature that many users still prefer for reliable wired audio. This allows easy connectivity with traditional earphones or external speakers without needing adapters or Bluetooth pairing.

Connectivity and LTE Support

Unlike many tablets in the budget segment, the TechLife Pad Lite 8” includes built-in LTE connectivity. This makes it more versatile, particularly for users who need a device that works independently of Wi-Fi. It uses a hybrid SIM tray, which supports either two nano SIM cards or one SIM and one microSD card. Dual 4G standby and VoLTE (Voice over LTE) are also supported. This enables users to make clearer voice calls and maintain mobile data access while on a call, and probably

The LTE connection allows the tablet to be used for mobile internet. It’s a practical option for those who rely on connectivity while commuting, studying remotely, or working from different locations.

Camera Performance

The camera setup includes a 5MP rear shooter with flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. The camera performance may be limited by hardware but both lenses are capable of delivering acceptable image quality in well-lit conditions. The rear camera can be used to scan documents, capture class notes, or take basic snapshots for sharing. On the other hand, the front camera, placed in the upper-right corner of the screen when held vertically, is functional for video calls and virtual meetings.

These cameras are not meant for high-end photography but are good enough for educational and communication needs, particularly for students and casual users.

Software Experience and Android 15

The TechLife Pad Lite 8” runs on Android 15 out of the box. This ensures access to the latest Android features, improved system security, and compatibility with modern apps and services. The system is lightweight and uncluttered, contributing to smoother performance despite the entry-level hardware.

TechLife Pad Lite 8” Review - Software

Another noteworthy feature is support for Google Gemini, Google’s AI-powered assistant. While not everyone may use it right away, this future-ready integration means the tablet can support smarter features and better voice commands down the line. The Google Kids Space is also a welcome feature.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery performance is one of the strongest aspects of the TechLife Pad Lite 8”. It houses a large 6000 mAh dual-cell battery that is capable of supporting a full day of light to moderate usage. In real-world scenarios, the tablet can stream online content for up to 7.5 hours, play local videos for around 6.5 hours with maximum brightness and volume, and offer up to 29.5 hours of music playback when the screen is off. On standby, it can last as long as 600 hours.

Charging is handled via a USB Type-C port at 10W, which takes around four hours to fully charge the battery. While not the fastest, it is consistent with what’s expected in this price segment. Additionally, the tablet supports 5W reverse charging, allowing it to serve as a backup power source for smaller devices such as wireless earbuds or fitness trackers.

Conclusion

The TechLife Pad Lite 8” proves that affordability doesn’t have to mean compromise. At Php 4,999, it offers a solid set of features that go beyond basic expectations. Its compact form factor, detachable stand, reliable LTE connectivity, long-lasting battery, and expandable memory make it an easy recommendation. It is for students, casual users, or even parents looking for an affordable learning device for their children.

TechLife Pad Lite 8” Review - Conclusion

While it’s not built for intensive workloads or professional content creation, it excels in everyday tasks, communication, and media consumption. With the latest Android version, kid-friendly features, and decent multitasking performance, the TechLife Pad Lite is a smart choice for users looking for function over flair. And It's pretty affordable too!
