MANILA, Philippines – Samsung Philippines and RUNRIO staged the Galaxy Manila Marathon on August 10, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Complex, drawing 19,000 runners in one of the country’s largest fitness events this year.
The marathon highlighted Manila’s iconic routes, including Rizal Park, Intramuros, Roxas Boulevard, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Samsung positioned the event as part of its advocacy to promote health and wellness among Filipinos.
Powered by the latest Galaxy Watch innovations, the event showcased how technology supports active lifestyles. “The Galaxy Manila Marathon shows how AI and innovation can take wellness to the next level. With features like the Running Coach and the power of the Samsung Galaxy Ecosystem, the Galaxy Watch8 series helps users run smarter and push further,” Samsung Electronics Philippines Ecosystem Product Marketing Manager Michelle Tee said.
Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic, designed to provide personalized health insights, advanced fitness tracking, and AI-powered coaching. “Our aim is to continue inspiring Filipinos to live healthier, more active lives. The event shows how technology and wellness can move together, empowering runners to push limits, stay connected, and achieve their personal best,” Tee added.
The Galaxy Watch8 series introduces features such as the Running Coach, Antioxidant Index, Energy Score, and AI-powered Gemini assistant on Wear OS 6. With slimmer builds, brighter displays, and customizable designs, the new models target both performance and everyday use. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch Ultra delivers durability, extended battery life, and titanium construction for athletes and adventurers.
