Samsung has started the official rollout of One UI 9 to more Galaxy devices, with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra first in line for the update on September 16, 2026. The update previously debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8.
One UI 9 adds new Galaxy AI features across camera, personalization, device care, translation, scanning, recording, security, and privacy. Samsung says the update aims to reduce the number of steps needed for common tasks through context-aware suggestions and other AI-powered tools.
My FanCam brings automatic subject tracking to recorded videos. Users can select a person, and the feature keeps that subject centered as the scene changes. The camera software handles the reframing, which can help turn footage from events, performances, or sports into social-ready clips with less manual editing.
Samsung also adds Generative and Editable Cards to Now Brief. Users can create cards for topics such as health, weather, and video, giving them more control over the information that appears in their daily summaries.
For device support, Warranty and Care moves key tools into the Settings menu. Users can check warranty coverage for connected Galaxy devices, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+, and book service appointments from one location.
Now Nudge adds context-aware suggestions across more parts of the Galaxy experience. For example, users can access reservation details or save a shared location while discussing plans through supported messaging apps.
On the creative side, Creative Studio can suggest image-generation ideas based on upcoming events. The feature can surface prompts for occasions such as birthdays, giving users a starting point for creating themed images and greetings.
Interpreter gets a new Thread View that makes translated conversations easier to follow by keeping earlier exchanges accessible. Samsung also says Conversation Mode now translates faster, while compatible Galaxy Buds can provide quicker audio playback.
One UI 9 also brings updates to productivity tools. Document Scan can handle curved book pages and corner-folded papers with less manual adjustment, while improved large-screen support and Finger Eraser can help clean up scans. Voice Recorder now presents summaries with headings and tables for easier reading.
Security gets its own set of updates. Security Brief adds alerts about malware, apps from unknown sources, and unnecessary permissions to Now Brief. This gives users a quick look at potential security issues that may need attention.
Privacy Alerts use on-device AI to detect potential privacy risks, including unnecessary background attempts to access permissions. Samsung also expands Scam Detection to additional countries and languages to help identify potential scam calls in supported markets.
The One UI 9 rollout starts with the Galaxy S26 series and will gradually reach other supported Galaxy devices. Feature availability can vary by device, country, region, language, carrier, and software version.
