Globe Telecom has started rolling out Starlink-powered prepaid promos through GCash and GlobeOne apps. This offers satellite-based connectivity for users in remote and underserved areas in the Philippines. The new offers include prepaid data and text allocations that work through Starlink’s direct-to-cell technology.

Prepaid Promos
Two prepaid Starlink promo options for Globe and TM subscribers. The first offer, Globe Starlink 99, includes 2GB of satellite data access for essential apps and 100 texts with a 30-day validity period.
The second option, Globe Starlink 299, comes with 10GB of satellite data access and 500 texts valid for 90 days. The promos appeared inside the GCash and GlobeOne apps for selected users ahead of a wider rollout.
What You Need To Know?
Globe said the service functions like roaming. It switches to Starlink satellite coverage once Globe’s cellular signal drops or becomes unavailable, including areas with weak or no mobile signal. Globe’s field tests showed internet speeds that range from around 2Mbps to 4Mbps.
Users need to enable roaming on their phones and subscribe to a promo before they enter areas without signal. Globe added that the service may work up to 12 nautical miles from the coast. As of this writing, the promos are only available in selected users as Globe rolls out the service to the broader user base.
Globe x Starlink
Globe first announced its partnership with Starlink earlier this year as part of its direct-to-cell satellite connectivity initiative. The company completed pilot tests in Rizal, Batangas, and Bataan to validate the service on standard LTE smartphones without additional hardware.
The service aims to provide mobile connectivity in areas that remain beyond the reach of traditional cell towers. Globe said Starlink’s low-earth orbit satellite network can support app-based messaging, voice calls, SMS, and basic mobile data services as long as users have a clear view of the sky.
GCash integration also allows subscribers to register and pay for the promos through digital channels. Globe continues to expand its prepaid and satellite connectivity services as competition among telecom providers shifts toward broader nationwide coverage.
