Aside
from the camera-centric Vibe shot, Lenovo also announced a midrange smartphone
in the Mobile World Congress – the A7000 smartphone. What makes this device
different from other chunks in the market is the fact that it is the first
handset to rock the Dolby Atmos surround sound technology.
What
is Dolby Atmos Surround Sound?
The
Chinese outfit partnered with the popular multimedia company to bring Dolby Atmos
tech in your handsets. This will give you the feeling that the sound goes
towards you from omni-directions while making the volume more consistent at the
same time. Even regular headphones will make you perceive good sound quality when
using the A7000.
Specs-wise,
the device crosses the phablet territory with its 5.5-inch HD display. It runs
on a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752m processor supported with 2 gigabytes of
RAM and powered by Android Lollipop (v5.0).
There's
also an 8-gigabyte of built-in memory, across the board; plus, you can add up
to 32GB using a microSD card which is good considering that it is targeted to
multimedia-rooting audience. Camera-wise, the device sports 8MP rear camera and
5MP selfie shooter.
The
phone has dual micro SIM functionality and LTE connectivity on top of a
complete set of radios.
The
phone measures 152.6 x 76.2 x 7.99 mm and weighs 140 grams. Like the Vibe Shot,
it has 2900mAh removable battery to power device. The phone will be available
for a price of 169 USD (roughly Php7,500) and is expected to go on sale in
March.
