Microsoft unveils its own tablet, tags it as Surface for Windows

Microsoft has a gigantic market when it comes to desktop department; and when this enormous company designs a hardware for the more portable computer (tablet), worldwide tech-enthusiasts will call it the next “big” thing in consumer electronics.

Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, introduced the upcoming 10.6-inch slate as the “Surface” which raises several eyebrows of tablet leaders, especially that of Apple and other Windows 8 tablet manufacturers. The device will come into two variants: the one that will run in Windows RT with ARM chipset and a Windows 8 Pro Intel-based version.

Both tablets will be in 10.6-inch Gorilla Glass 2 display having a vapor-deposited PVD magnesium as its chassis. What make this tablet different from the rest of the pack are its built-in kickstand and the magnetically attached cover that could function as full multi-touch keyboard and trackpad.
