LG announces Ice Cream Sandwich updates for Optimus Line

LG announces plans for Ice Cream Sandwich update for their latest Optimus handsets. This recent news breaks the rumors that LG won’t be having any plans of having an Android 4.0 upgrade.
However, even if they maybe too slow in dishing out updates, LG promises to made it official that LG Optimus 2X will be having a bite off of the latest Android OS in December through their official Facebook page.

LG firmly denies the rumors that claim LG will not be providing the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS update for the LG Optimus 2X. These rumors are NOT true. LG is currently in the process of planning the ICS OS update for the LG Optimus 2X as well as other LG high-end smartphones. Detailed information on the ICS OS update schedule for specific models will be announced, once the ICS OS is publicly released by Google. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG.

Thank you very much.

Furthermore, this second post confirms that it would also release updates for the Optimus 3D and Optimus Black.

LG confirms today that the Ice CreamSandwich(ICS) OS will be initially available for the following high-end LG smartphones which were introduced this year: the Optimus 2X, the Optimus Black, the Optimus 3D and the Optimus LTE. We are also continuing to evaluate the ICS OS to determine whether it is compatible with the functionality, features and performance of other LG smartphones to make the ICS OS available on as many LG smartphones as possible.

In December this year, the forthcoming upgrade schedule and additional specific models for the ICS OS upgrade will be posted on our LG Mobile Global Facebook page (www.facebook.com/LGMobile) and on our local LG websites. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG.

And LG also weighs in the possibility of upgrading its older Optimus units such as Optimus One and Optimus Net to ICS. Yes, all the Pinoy LG fans is freaking out at this moment. It really is Christmas already!
