Galaxy Nexus first to have a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich

It may no longer be the Google Nexus Prime, but the name is even better with the Galaxy Nexus. This is latest from Google and Samsung that has been infused with the flashiest OS so far, Android 4.0 codename Ice Cream Sandwich. This device is framed with 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display (1280 x 720); and clocked at 1.2 GHz-dual core processor.

Other key features are 1GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of internal memory and 1750mAh battery. Galaxy Nexus has 5MP camera with LED flash at the rear panel that has been tagged by Samsung as the “Zero-Lag Shutter”; and video capture is up to 1080p with 30fps. It also has a 1.3 MP in the front panel.

With regards to its connectivity, we are looking into a Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 2.0 with 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi (2.4 GHz and 5GHz). Ofcourse, we wouldn’t be the last to know that it has NFC. All of these are packed in a 135g and 8.94mm device.

The user interface is what they call “the pure Google experience”, no skins. ICS being the cleaner and refined version of the Honeycomb would mean that this will offer no hardware buttons (all of which appears on the screen). Most of the brilliant software updates are offered by the Ice Cream Sandwich, Face Unlock is the face detection software that’ll make your locking modes code-free. Plus, Android Beam is the main NFC feature which allows you to share contents, maps, messages, etc, to any other Android device nearby.
