Sony has expanded its ULT POWER SOUND lineup with three new party speakers: the ULT TOWER MAX, ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5. The new models focus on deeper bass, higher sound pressure and party features for DJ setups, karaoke and everyday listening.
The new ULT TOWER lineup uses newly developed circular woofers, large-capacity speaker cabinets and Sony’s ULT DUCT to improve low-frequency bass performance. Sony also worked with hip-hop sound creators to tune the speakers for deeper low frequencies, stronger impact and clearer vocals.
All three models feature Sony’s ULT button with ULT1 and ULT2 modes. The lineup also adds FLAT and LIVE sound modes. ULT1 emphasizes deep bass, while ULT2 pushes higher bass output and sound pressure. FLAT focuses on a true-to-source sound, while LIVE recreates the spacious feel of a live performance. Users can also adjust the sound through Custom EQ in the Sony | Sound Connect app.
The ULT TOWER MAX sits at the top of the lineup with three woofers, two front-facing and one rear-facing, plus an amplifier that delivers up to 2,150 watts of output. The ULT TOWER 7 reaches up to 420 watts, while the ULT TOWER 5 delivers up to 300 watts from its more compact design.
Sony also equips the ULT TOWER MAX and ULT TOWER 7 with 360° Party Sound. The feature uses multiple speakers and tweeters to spread audio across the space. Sound Field Optimization analyzes speaker placement and surrounding noise, then adjusts the sound balance across the frequency range.
For connectivity, the ULT TOWER lineup supports XLR, RCA and USB-C connections. Compatible speakers can also connect in a stereo configuration for wider sound coverage. The new lighting modes include BEAT, WAVE and MELLOW, with each mode suited to different party or listening setups.
Karaoke fans can pair the speakers with Sony’s optional ULTMIC1 microphone. Sony also adds Party Chain with Auracast broadcast support, which can connect multiple compatible Sony speakers and synchronize their music and lighting.
Portability also gets a boost across the lineup. The speakers have carry handles, while the ULT TOWER MAX and ULT TOWER 7 get upgraded wheels with wider treads. The ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 also carry an IPX4 rating when used in a vertical position with the waterproof port cover closed. Battery life reaches up to 30 hours on the ULT TOWER 7 and up to 20 hours on the ULT TOWER 5 under Sony’s stated test conditions.
On the sustainability front, Sony says recycled plastic accounts for about 35% of the total plastic used in the ULT TOWER MAX. The ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 each use about 20% recycled plastic by weight, excluding packaging and instruction manuals.
In the Philippines, the ULT TOWER MAX costs PHP 88,889, while the ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 cost PHP 38,889 and PHP 22,229, respectively. Sony says all three models are now available at Sony Centres and authorized dealers nationwide.
