POCO released the Poco X8 5G globally with a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, 50-megapixel main camera, and an 8,340mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W wired charging. The phone also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water protection.
The POCO X8 5G comes in three configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at $269, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage at $299, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage at $349. Poco has yet to announce the phone's global availability details. It comes in Black, Orange, and White.
On the display side, the POCO X8 5G uses a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen reaches up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness and supports HDR10+, 12-bit colour depth, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the panel.
Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 platform with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It ships with Android 16 and HyperOS 3. That hardware setup puts the focus on everyday performance, 5G connectivity, and faster app loading.
For photography, the POCO X8 5G has a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with OIS and EIS, along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A 16-megapixel camera handles selfies. The camera system also supports underwater shooting, dual-video recording, and AI features such as Glare Removal, Erase Pro, Image Expansion, and Image Enhancement.
The phone packs an 8,340 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 13 percent silicon content. POCO says the battery can retain at least 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. It supports 67W wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. At 223 grams and 8.6mm thick, the Poco X8 5G keeps a fairly substantial footprint for its battery capacity.
Connectivity options include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The phone also gets an in-display fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, and Xiaomi Offline Communication support.
