Getting a tablet isn't as simple as it used to be. One model may have a great display but only support Wi-Fi, while another may pack decent hardware but require you to shell out a few thousand pesos more for a keyboard. Before you know it, that "affordable" tablet has already gone over budget.

That's where the TECNO MEGAPAD 2 LTE caught my attention. Instead of making you build your setup piece by piece, TECNO bundles a Bluetooth keyboard with every unit. Add LTE connectivity, a 2.5K eye-care display, AI tools, and a 6.6mm full-metal body, and you have a tablet that comes out of the gate ready for work, school, and everyday use.
But does it actually deliver when you take it beyond the spec sheet? Can the hardware keep up with everyday productivity, multimedia, and a bit of gaming? Let's find out in our review.
Pros
- LTE connectivity for internet access without Wi-Fi
- Good display for documents, streaming, and multitasking
- Loud quad speakers with DTS audio
- Free Bluetooth keyboard with every purchase
Cons
- Keyboard layout may take some getting used to for long typing sessions
- Keyboard case adds noticeable heft
Design: Tablet That Feels Premium
The first thing I noticed is how thin the tablet feels. At only 6.6 mm, the MEGAPAD 2 ranks among the slimmest tablets in its class. We have a full-metal body that gives the tablet a premium appearance and also adds rigidity. The anodized sandblasted finish accentuates its construction, in contrast to other plastic tablets.

I also like that TECNO kept the design clean and modern. It looks professional enough for business meetings while remaining stylish enough for students. However, when the keyboard case is installed, there's a slight heft to it when compared to other 11-inch tablet with keyboard case.

In landscape, the tablet offers a unique set of ports and buttons. The top has the power button and volume rocker, together with the orange-accented mute button on the opposite end. Both the left and right sides feature speaker grilles, with the right side also housing the USB-C port. It's also worth-noting that the USB-C port is not collinear with the with the speaker grille, I find this being nit-picky but it just doesn't add to the "premium-ness" of the overall design. The tablet's relatively thin profile also makes a real difference during daily use. It slips into a backpack without adding much bulk, and it feels comfortable enough to carry throughout the day.
Display: 2.5K Resolution for Productivity and Entertainment
A productivity tablet needs a display that stays comfortable for long hours. The MEGAPAD 2 features an 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 550 nits of brightness, and TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light and flicker reduction. These numbers translate well into real-world use.

Every document I read in this tablet looks crisp. Text stays easy to read. Large spreadsheets fit comfortably on screen. When using split-screen multitasking, the larger display poses a great advantage. The smoother 90Hz refresh rate makes scrolling through documents and websites feel more responsive than traditional 60Hz panels. Eye comfort also deserves recognition. Long reading sessions remain comfortable, which makes the tablet suitable for students, office workers, and anyone who spends several hours in front of the screen.

When it's time to kick back, the large screen paired with the quad speakers and DTS audio is a different ball game. I love watching Netflix on this tablet because the speakers pack quite a punch and get loud enough to fill a room without sounding thin. Add the 90Hz refresh rate to the mix, and scrolling through documents or navigating menus feels smooth and responsive. For me, the display and audio setup hits the sweet spot between getting work done and kicking back with a movie.
Performance + Battery
The TECNO MEGAPAD 2 runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor, with two memory and storage configurations available. You get 12GB RAM with 128GB storage or 16GB RAM with 256GB storage, with Extended RAM included in both configurations.

In my experience with the tablet, the hardware has enough headroom for web browsing, document work, streaming, online classes, and multitasking. I usually use the PC-style multi-window interface that makes better use of the large display when you have several apps open at once.
I wouldn't put this in the same performance bracket as a high-end tablet designed for heavy gaming or demanding creative workloads. The TECNO MEGAPAD 2 could be considered as an everyday productivity machine than a performance monster.
The camera setup is more functional than flashy, with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera. It gets the job done for quick snaps, document scans, and video calls, but don't expect smartphone-level photography here. Here are some snaps:
The 8,200 mAh battery is another plus for people who spend long hours away from a charger. For light to moderate usage, the tablet could last a full day and could easily extend to the next day. As mentioned, its quad speakers with DTS audio also make the tablet more enjoyable for multimedia. The Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, WPS Office, Android 16, and stylus support round out the feature set.

For gaming, the MEGAPAD 2 LTE is more of a casual gamer’s sidekick than a dedicated gaming tablet. The large 11-inch display gives games plenty of screen real estate, while the 90Hz refresh rate keeps supported titles and scrolling feeling smooth. Casual games and lighter titles run well enough for some downtime, but I wouldn't push it too hard with graphics-heavy games at max settings.

Thermals and sustained performance can also become a factor during longer sessions. Still, for a few rounds of your favorite mobile games between work or study, it gets the job done without breaking a sweat.
LTE Connectivity
One of the first things that caught my attention was LTE connectivity. At this price point, plenty of tablets still keep you tied to Wi-Fi, which can be a deal-breaker once you step outside the house. Wi-Fi works fine at home or in the office, but things can go south pretty quickly when the connection gets spotty. Public Wi-Fi can also be hit or miss, while using your phone as a hotspot can put a serious dent in its battery.

The MEGAPAD 2 LTE gets around that with cellular connectivity. Pop in a SIM card and you can get online without waiting for a Wi-Fi network to show up. That works well for checking emails, joining online meetings, accessing cloud files, or attending classes while you're out and about.
Of course, LTE performance still depends on your carrier and location, so don't expect the tablet to magically fix poor network coverage. Still, having mobile data built in gives the MEGAPAD 2 more breathing room. For me, that's one of those quality-of-life features that you appreciate more the longer you use the tablet.
AI + OneLeap
Almost every new device talks about AI these days, but here's the catch: not every AI feature earns its place on the spec sheet. Some feel more like window dressing than something you'll actually use. TECNO takes a more practical route with the AI Education Assistant, which covers problem solving, translation, captions, note organization, AI drawing, and voice-powered tools.
For students, it can come in handy when a lesson gets a little over your head. Instead of simply throwing a search result at you, the assistant can help break down a problem and organize information into something easier to digest. The translation and note tools also have their moments, especially for schoolwork and documents.
Still, don't expect AI to do all the heavy lifting. You may need to double-check its answers, particularly for technical or academic topics. That's par for the course with generative AI. There are also built-in parental controls for managing screen time, which adds another layer of practicality for families. Overall, the AI features feel less like AI for AI's sake and more like tools you can pull out of your toolbox when the situation calls for them.

If you're already using a TECNO smartphone, OneLeap is where things start to come together. The ecosystem supports file transfers, screen mirroring, calls, messages, and PC connectivity, so you can move files between devices instead of sending them to yourself through email or uploading them to the cloud first.
The ability to extend your PC display to the tablet can also come in handy when you need extra screen real estate. There are some caveats, though. OneLeap makes the most sense when you already have compatible TECNO devices, so users with phones from other brands may not get the full benefit. For TECNO users, however, it helps break down the walls between devices and makes the MEGAPAD 2 feel less like a standalone tablet.
Bluetooth Keyboard Adds Real Value
This is probably the ace up TECNO's sleeve with the MEGAPAD 2. The keyboard also doubles as a cover and stand, so you don't have to buy another accessory just to prop the tablet up on a desk.

Of course, a tablet keyboard still won't completely replace a proper laptop keyboard for everyone. The typing experience depends on what you're used to, and the compact layout takes some adjustment. But for emails, reports, notes, and other light productivity work, it gets the job done.

At Php 16,999, the 12GB + 128GB version already includes the keyboard. That makes the overall package easier to swallow than a tablet that looks cheaper at first but needs another purchase before you can properly use it for work.
Verdict
The TECNO MEGAPAD 2 LTE doesn't try to win the spec-sheet Olympics. Instead, it puts together several features that make sense for the way people actually use a tablet.

LTE gives it more freedom outside Wi-Fi. The 6.6-mm metal body keeps it slim and easy to carry. The 11-inch 2.5K display works well for documents and multimedia, while the quad speakers make Netflix sessions a lot more enjoyable. The AI tools have practical applications, although they still require a bit of common sense from the user. OneLeap adds another layer of convenience if you're already inside the TECNO ecosystem.
Then there's the free Bluetooth keyboard, which is arguably the biggest value-add in the package. It gives the MEGAPAD 2 a productivity angle from day one instead of leaving you to build your setup piece by piece.

It still has limitations. The keyboard won't replace a full-size laptop keyboard for everyone, and the performance is better suited to everyday productivity than demanding workloads. Some of the ecosystem features also make more sense for existing TECNO users. But at this price, the overall package makes a pretty good case for itself.
The TECNO MEGAPAD 2 LTE comes in Light Green, Space Grey, and Cosmic Orange. The 12GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Php 16,999; while the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage model comes with an asking price of Php 19,999. Both variants come with one free Bluetooth keyboard with every purchase. For students, professionals, and users who want a tablet that can pull double duty for work and entertainment, that's a pretty solid deal.
