Apple has unveiled the new Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro in the Philippines, with the updated desktop offering faster AI performance, upgraded graphics, and improved connectivity. The Mac mini with M6 starts at Php 64,990, while the M5 Pro model starts at Php 119,990.
Mac Mini M6
The Mac mini with M6 packs a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in every GPU core. Apple says the new model delivers up to 4x faster AI performance, 2x faster graphics and storage, and 40 percent faster CPU performance compared with the previous M4 version.
The M6 model comes with 16GB of unified memory as standard and supports up to 32GB. Its memory bandwidth reaches up to 170GB/s. Apple also added a Dual 16-core Neural Engine for AI workloads that run directly on the device.
For local AI users, the Mac mini with M6 can handle tasks such as running large language models, image effects, and AI agents without relying entirely on cloud processing. Apple claims up to 13.5x faster LLM prompt processing in LM Studio compared with the M1 Mac mini.
Mac Mini M5 Pro
The Mac mini with M5 Pro takes things up a notch for more demanding workloads. It comes with up to an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU, along with Neural Accelerators, third-generation ray tracing, and up to 64GB of unified memory. Memory bandwidth reaches up to 307GB/s.
That hardware targets workloads such as video production, 3D design, VFX, game development, scientific simulations, and local AI models. Apple says the M5 Pro model can deliver up to 8.5x faster LLM prompt processing in LM Studio compared with the M2 Pro Mac mini.
Connectivity also gets a significant upgrade. Both models support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and 2.5Gb Ethernet, with a 10Gb Ethernet option. The M6 version has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M5 Pro model gets three Thunderbolt 5 ports. Both models also have HDMI, two front USB-C ports, and a headphone jack.
Thunderbolt 5 on the M5 Pro model can also connect multiple Mac mini systems for large AI workloads. Apple added genlock support through USB-C as well, which can synchronize a display and camera setup, including an iPhone 17 Pro.
The new Mac mini runs with macOS 27, which brings updates to Spotlight, Photos, Mail, Safari, AirDrop, Apple Maps, Notes, and Podcasts. Apple also redesigned parts of the interface with refinements to Liquid Glass.

On the environmental front, Apple says the new Mac mini uses 50 percent recycled material overall. The enclosure uses 100 percent recycled aluminum, while the magnets use 100 percent recycled rare earth elements.
In the Philippines, the Mac mini with M6 starts at Php 64,990, while the education price starts at Php 57,990. The Mac mini with M5 Pro starts at Php 119,990, with an education price of Php 112,990.
