Apple introduced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M5 chip, offering up to 3.5x faster AI performance, improved CPU and GPU speeds, faster storage, and up to 24 hours of battery life. The laptop, available in space black and silver, starts at $1,599 and will be available beginning October 22.
The new M5 chip introduces a next-generation GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core, boosting AI and graphics performance significantly. Apple says the M5 delivers up to 3.5x faster AI workflows and 1.6x higher graphics performance than the previous generation, while also featuring an enhanced Neural Engine and increased memory bandwidth for improved multitasking and application responsiveness.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro now features faster SSD performance which enables quicker file transfers and exports for creative professionals. It retains its Liquid Retina XDR display with a nano-texture option, a 12MP Center Stage camera, six-speaker sound system, and Apple Intelligence capabilities in macOS Tahoe.

The M5 chip brings up to 1.6x faster graphics performance in pro apps and higher frame rates in games compared to the M4 model. With up to 150GB/s of memory bandwidth, users can run large AI models or edit complex 3D scenes with greater efficiency. The new model also provides up to 7.7x faster AI video enhancement and up to 6.8x faster 3D rendering than M1-based MacBook Pros.
The MacBook Pro’s 24-hour battery life continues to set it apart from other laptops, maintaining consistent performance whether on battery or plugged in. macOS Tahoe introduces new features like Live Translation, enhanced Spotlight, and an updated interface with customization options.
Apple also highlights sustainability, stating the MacBook Pro with M5 uses 45 percent recycled materials, including 100 percent recycled aluminum in its enclosure and cobalt in its battery. It is manufactured with 55 percent renewable electricity and comes in fully recyclable fiber-based packaging.
