Apple unveiled the new iPad Pro powered by the M5 chip, introducing major upgrades in AI performance, wireless connectivity, and display technology. The next-generation tablet now features a faster Neural Engine, a redesigned GPU with Neural Accelerators in every core, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and 5G connectivity. The new iPad Pro is available in 11-inch and 13-inch models, with pre-orders starting today and retail availability beginning October 22.

The M5 chip marks a major leap in Apple’s silicon for iPad, delivering up to 3.5 times faster AI performance than the M4 model and up to 5.6 times faster than the M1 version. Its 10-core GPU introduces a new architecture with Neural Accelerators built into every core, while the 16-core Neural Engine boosts on-device AI tasks such as image generation, video masking, and productivity tools using Apple Intelligence features.
Designed for professionals, the M5 chip features up to a 10-core CPU with four performance cores and six efficiency cores. It delivers up to 6.7 times faster 3D rendering in Octane X compared to the M1 model and 6 times faster video transcode performance in Final Cut Pro for iPad. The new chip also improves multitasking and creative workflows through faster memory bandwidth and up to twice the storage read and write speeds.

The new iPad Pro introduces Apple’s C1X modem for cellular models, offering up to 50 percent faster mobile data speeds and 30 percent greater efficiency. The new N1 wireless networking chip brings Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support, improving connectivity for both personal and professional use.
In terms of design, the iPad Pro maintains its thin and light form factor, with the 11-inch model measuring 5.3 mm and the 13-inch model at just 5.1 mm. The Ultra Retina XDR display features tandem OLED technology for higher brightness, precise contrast, and vivid color accuracy. It supports up to 1600 nits of peak brightness for HDR content and includes a nano-texture glass option to reduce glare in bright environments.

Running on iPadOS 26, the new iPad Pro introduces a redesigned interface and improved multitasking tools. The new windowing system and menu bar offer better app control and file management, while the addition of the Preview app allows users to view and edit PDFs directly. Apple Intelligence features such as Live Translation, intelligent shortcuts, and AI-assisted organization enhance productivity across apps.

Apple also unveiled new accessories including the Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and the redesigned Magic Keyboard with an aluminum palm rest and function row. The iPad Pro continues Apple’s environmental push, built with 30 percent recycled content, 100 percent recycled aluminum in the chassis, and fully fiber-based packaging.
