The OPPO Reno Series has always stood for style and functionality. It bridges the gap between premium aesthetics and practical everyday usability. The OPPO Reno14 5G continues this tradition by bringing a refined design, upgraded cameras, dependable performance, and reliable battery life. OPPO is doing this by giving the most practical price it could offer with this set of cutting-edge tech.

After using the Reno14 5G as my daily driver, I can say that it is a phone that thrives on balancing style that's just enough to stand out. The use of the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 is also a highlight. This makes it more powerful than its contemporaries.
In this review, I'll break down how the phone handles the essentials and whether it delivers on everyday needs. With its starting price of Php 31,999, let's explore if it’s practical enough to be trusted for the long haul. By the end of this review, I’ll also answer the question of who it’s really for. So if you’re eyeing a new device this season, you’re in the right place.
Pros
- Strong performance
- Excellent low-light camera
- Stunning, premium design
Cons
- No SD card slot
- Bloatwares may need to be minimized
Design
One of the things that instantly struck me about the Reno14 5G is its design. To be honest, it's quite similar to the OPPO Reno13 5G, only that it comes with a refined camera placement and LED lighting system. This candybar phone is slim, lightweight, and clearly made with comfort in mind. Its frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminum which gives it a more premium feel. Likewise, the flat edges give it a contemporary footprint, while the matte finish on the back keeps it resistant to fingerprints.

The colors are worth-noting too. We have the Luminous Green colorway for our review unit, but you can also grab the Opal White if you're into that mermaid tail effect. OPPO has never shied away from making their Reno Series stand out, and the Reno14 5G does just that with these vibrant options. Of the two, I think I’m more of a Luminous Green guy. I love the halo effect that surrounds the camera module which gives a subtle effect on the dark green back panel.

The ports and buttons are in their no non-sense placements. The power button and the volume rocker are on the right side, while the secondary microphone, speakers and IR blaster are up top. The bottom is busy with the primary microphone, USB-C port, SIM Tray, and the primary speakers. In terms of ergonomics, the phone sits comfortably in the hand, with its weight evenly distributed and corners softly curved. The phone doesn’t feel tiring to hold even for long stretches of use.
Display
The display is another highlight of the Reno14 5G. It comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1256 x 2760p resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 460 ppi pixel density, and 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. Of course, these specifications are common in today’s mid-range market but OPPO’s display tuning makes a noticeable difference. Colors are vivid but not overly saturated. This keeps images and videos look natural yet immersive. The Blacks are deep, contrast levels are high, and viewing angles remain consistent.

Outdoor readability is excellent thanks to peak brightness reaching up to 1200 nits (600 nits typical), meaning you won’t struggle with glare under direct sunlight. The panel also supports adaptive refresh rate. Aside from the max 120 Hz, the panel is also capable of trickling down to 60Hz and 90Hz depending on user's screen activity. This feature plays an important role by adjusting the refresh rate for balancing performance and battery efficiency.

For gamers, the fast refresh rate and responsive touch sampling rate of 240Hz make swipes, taps, and quick movements feel fluid, adding an extra layer of responsiveness to gameplay. It is also worth-noting that the bezels are slim and have uniform dimensions in all sides. This allows more immersive viewing experience.
Hardware + Performance
Under the hood, the Reno14 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM (expandable further with OPPO’s virtual RAM) and two storage configurations - 256GB and 512GB. The phone uses UFS 3.1 flash storage tech for faster transfers; however, it does not support microSD card. Overall, this combination provides smooth and reliable performance for everyday use. App launches are fast, switching between multiple apps feels seamless, and the phone stays responsive even with heavy multitasking.

In fact, the OPPO Reno14 5G performs well in our benchmark tests. It tallied 1,389,157 score in our Antutu Benchmark, which is significantly higher than its competitors. In our Geekbench 6.0 tests, the phone gathered 1313 Single-Core and 3967 Multi-Core scores in CPU benchmarks; while in our GPU tests, it scored 7139 in OpenCL and 8240 in Vulkan benchmarks.

These scores translate to gaming. Titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Call of Duty Mobile run without issues at high settings. I also noticed that it delivers consistent frame rates all throughout the gameplay. On more demanding games such as Genshin Impact, the phone performs well on medium settings, though pushing everything to max does result in some frame drops. Still, OPPO’s cooling system does its job in preventing the device from heating up too much, especially during extended gaming sessions. For casual gamers, it’s more than capable. For professionals or students who just want a phone that doesn’t lag during heavy workloads, it’s a dependable performer.

Streaming with this phone is such a breeze. I enjoyed watching my favorite titles in Netflix. As mentioned, I love the immersive display and its thin bezels. When it comes to loudspeakers, the OPPO Reno14 5G is also a winner. The phone features dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, providing clear and well-balanced sound for music, videos, and calls. While not the loudest in its category, audio quality is clean enough for everyday use. Security features like the in-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition unlock are both fast and accurate, adding to the overall smooth user experience.

Connectivity and extra features round out the package. The Reno14 5G supports 5G connectivity for fast mobile data, Wi-Fi 6 for stable wireless connections, and Bluetooth v5.3 for quick and reliable pairing with accessories.
Camera
Cameras have always been the Reno Series’ strongest suit, and the Reno14 5G continues this legacy with a versatile setup. On the back, it houses a 50MP Sony IMX882 f/1.8 main camera with OIS and 5P lens, paired with an 8MP ultrawide shooter, and another 50MP f/2.8 telephoto camera with 2-axis OIS. On the front, there’s a 50MP autofocus f/2.0 camera for selfies and video calls.

The main camera shines in daylight, producing photos with sharp detail, balanced exposure, and colors that look natural. Dynamic range is quite impressive. The phone keeps highlights from blowing out and shadows from losing detail.

Lowlight photography is equally impressive thanks to OIS and OPPO’s optimized Night Mode. Even in dimly lit environments, shots come out clear with minimal blur and reduced noise.
Check out these photos I took when I did a nighttime photowalk around Bacolod City:

The Reno14 5G also employs the AI Flash Photography which lights up shots in dark environments without blowing up the photo with the flash. This is very useful in parties or in night gatherings wherein you need to take more photos than the usual. I could also tell that apart from the hardware, the Reno14 5G is also rendering night photos with AI algorithm to restructure these photos.
The ultrawide camera, while useful for group photos and landscapes, is noticeably less sharp than the main sensor. However, I could still see that this is serviceable for landscape shots and travel photos. The telephoto sensor proves to be useful in taking zoomed shots. The camera captures photos with good amount of detail, color accuracy, and dynamic range. The camera app has 2x, 3.5x, and 7x magnification in its interface. I found that photos taken at 7x zoom are still serviceable, however, I would not suggest going any further as details gradually drop and colors being muted.

The selfie camera is easily one of the highlights of this phone. The 50MP sensor with autofocus ensures faces are sharp and skin tones appear natural. The front camera excels in selfies, vlogs, and video calls. On the other hand, video recording maxes out at 4K 30fps with solid stabilization courtesy of OIS and EIS. For casual content creators, vloggers or those active on TikTok and Instagram, the Reno14 5G delivers polished and stable clips without the need for external gear.

The improved AI Studio 2.0 also proved to be one of the best features of this phone. Introduced in last year's model, the AI Studio 2.0 hosts a number of AI features that could enhance the user's photography experience with the Reno14 5G.

| Remove Reflection Feature Sample: Before and After |
The Photos app also houses a lot of AI editing tools, including the AI Eraser, AI Recompose, AI Perfect Shot, and more. I find the Remove Reflections feature very useful, especially when I'm taking photos behind a clear glass surface. It could easily remove reflections on your photos; in turn, you'll have a clear and unobstructed shot.
Software
On the software side, the phone runs on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. OPPO’s skin is known for being one of the most polished Android overlays, and it shows. The interface is fluid and animations are smooth. Some features like Smart Sidebar and Multi-Screen Connect add real convenience to daily use. The latter is very useful if you're using multiple OPPO and compatible devices. This will allow users to perform tasks across multiple devices.

The Always-On Display options give you plenty of personalization. You can also invoke Google's Circle to Search when holding the home button. Likewise, AI-powered enhancements like photo editing, smart translations, and productivity tools bring extra value. Importantly, bloatware is minimal, and unnecessary apps can easily be removed if you prefer a cleaner experience.
Moreover, users can take advantage of Gemini Live as Google's AI is native in the Reno14 5G. You can access Gemini by pressing and holding the power button. The only thing I could nitpick is the number of bloatware present on initial setup. I mean, at this price range, I expect a clean software experience on the get-go, just like what I appreciate about its hardware.
Battery Life
Battery life is another area where the Reno14 5G proves its worth. Equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery, it can comfortably last a full day of heavy use. My typical day of moderate usage consists of social media, video streaming, and a bit of gaming. However, the phone can stretch closer to a day and a half. What makes the Reno14 5G stand out is its charging speed.

The 80W SUPERVOOC charging system can fully charge the device from zero to 100 percent in under 45 minutes. Even a quick 15-minute top-up gives you hours of usage, which is incredibly convenient for busy days. OPPO has also included battery health features to ensure long-term durability, slowing down wear and keeping the battery reliable over years of use.
Verdict
After weeks of daily use, what truly stands out about the OPPO Reno14 5G is its balance. The OPPO Reno14 5G keeps things practical — not a flagship, not a gaming beast, but a phone that consistently delivers reliable performance in all the areas that matter most. It is for photography lovers as it offers versatile cameras. Professionals and students could also take advantage of this phone due to its solid performance, battery, and fast charging. Likewise, gamers can enjoy smooth play, while lifestyle users can get a slim, colorful design with an AMOLED display.

The OPPO Reno14 5G delivers on style, cameras, charging speed, and reliable performance. It’s a dependable all-around phone that balances design, usability, and battery life. Sure, at Php 31,999, there are more powerful smartphones out there, but I think the OPPO Reno14 5G succeeds in offering better overall value in this price range. That’s why, to me, it’s still an easy recommendation.
