The Redmi Note 14 4G enters the market as an affordable option with familiar yet refined features. Priced under Php 10K, it continues the legacy of its predecessor by offering a well-balanced mix of performance and value. As the base model in the Redmi Note 14 series, it retains many of the core elements of the Redmi Note 13 4G, including a 120Hz AMOLED display, up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, 108MP rear camera, and a 5500mAh battery.

Externally, the design closely resembles last year’s model, maintaining the flat-frame aesthetics and sleek finish. However, it still features IP54-rated dust and splash resistance for added durability. When it comes to specs, much of the hardware remains unchanged, making it feel like an incremental upgrade rather than a complete overhaul. In this review, we'll take a closer look at the Redmi Note 14 4G’s features, performance, and whether it offers enough improvements to justify an upgrade.
Review Summary:
Pros
- Cool vibrant design
- Long-lasting battery
- Affordable, great value
Cons
- Incremental upgrade from previous model
- No ultrawide camera
Design
This base variant of the Redmi Note 14 features a flat frame with rounded edges. The back panel has a silky matte finish which offers a clean and polished look. The buttons and ports layout is straightforward. We have the volume rocker and power button on the right; the top includes a 3.5mm audio jack, secondary microphone and speaker; while the bottom holds the SIM tray, USB-C port, primary microphone and speaker.

Our review unit comes in a vibrant Lime Green color, but if you prefer something different, it also comes in Mist Purple, Midnight Black, and Ocean Blue. The device has a compact form, measuring 163.25 x 76.55 x 8.16mm, and is relatively lightweight at just 196.5 grams.
The protruding camera module houses a triple-camera setup which highlights the 108MP AI main camera. The back panel is crafted from plastic, and the colorway adds a refreshing, nature-inspired touch. With an IP54 rating, the device is protected against dust and water splashes from any direction, offering dependable performance for everyday use.
Flipping the device, you'll see a punch-hole display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for enhanced scratch resistance and durability. Even with oil or water smudges, touch sensitivity remains precise, ensuring every tap and swipe is accurately registered.
Display
The Redmi Note 14’s AMOLED display is a treat, especially for its price. The Full HD+ resolution (2400 x 1800 pixels) delivers crisp visuals, and the 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel effortless. Switching between apps or getting lost in a gaming session is such a breeze with this panel; I'm quite impressed that the 2160Hz touch sampling rate is very responsive and keeps up with every tap and swipe. Even outdoors, the 1800-nit peak brightness ensures the screen stays clear and readable, which is great for checking messages under direct sunlight.

Colors pop with 100% DCI-P3 coverage which makes everything look great. My sessions on social media feeds and Netflix binges look vibrant and immersive. Paired with Dolby Atmos dual speakers, the phone delivers an engaging multimedia experience with rich sound and sharp visuals that make watching videos and gaming more enjoyable.

Spending hours on my phone is inevitable, so it’s reassuring that the Redmi Note 14 has TÜV Rheinland eye protection certifications, including Low Blue Light, Circadian-Friendly, and Flicker-Free. This means less eye strain when reading at night or streaming content for long hours. Overall, I could say that the Redmi Note 14 display is superior compared to smartphones in this price range.
Performance
Powered by the Helio G99-Ultra chipset, the Redmi Note 14 4G delivers a smooth and balanced performance with an octa-core processor, reaching speeds of up to 2.2GHz, and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. My review unit comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. If you're looking for more budget-friendly options, there are also 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants available. Additionally, the storage is expandable up to 1TB via microSD, offering plenty of space for your apps and media.

Popular titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Honor of Kings run smoothly in this handset. There's no Ultra graphics settings in MLBB, but it does not take away the fact that this is a good device for MOBA gaming. Additionally, PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile are playable in medium graphics settings. I have not experienced heating issues when playing with these games in the said graphics settings.

When it comes to audio performance, the device boasts dual speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience. Whether you're watching videos, playing games, or listening to music, the audio quality is both rich and clear. For those who prefer wired headphones, the device also includes a 3.5mm audio jack.

If you're keen on benchmarks, the Redmi Note 14 tallied 725 SC and 1959 MC in our Geekbench 6 CPU benchmark tests. For GPU performance, it scored 1312 in the OpenCL test and 1284 in the Vulkan test.
Camera
The Redmi Note 14 4G takes a different approach to its camera setup compared to last year’s model. The ultrawide camera has been removed. It is now replaced by a 2MP depth sensor. Likewise, the 2MP macro camera remains, though its practical use is limited. Ultimately, the phone relies on its 108MP main camera, which is the only lens that truly delivers reliable results.

We still have the same 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor (f/1.8, PDAF) from last year's Redmi Note 13. It's a highly reliable sensor which captures sharp and colorful images with decent detail in daylight. However, its dynamic range is somewhat limited, which is typical for smartphones in this category. Shooting in full 108MP mode enhances detail, particularly for close-up subjects. However, this introduces more noise in shadowed areas and reduces dynamic range. Thus, shooting in a well-lit environment would be the best option for this mode.

The camera app offers 2x and 3x digital zoom options. There's no dedicated telephoto lens here so it is expected that the image clarity decreases at higher magnifications since the sensor will only be using digital zoom. Colors are accurate with the standard 1x mode, but sharpness and detail take a noticeable hit, especially at 3x.

For selfies, the 20MP OmniVision OV20B40 front camera (f/2.2) produces decent shots, but finer details can appear soft, and noise is more apparent. Portrait mode does a respectable job with edge detection, keeping subjects well-defined while blurring the background naturally.

In nighttime conditions, the main camera performs surprisingly well. The Auto Night mode helps manage highlights, reduces noise, and improves shadow details. As seen in these skyscraper shots, colors remain accurate, though images tend to appear slightly warmer than in reality.

Those who love taking zoomed shots might find it challenging to capture photos at night. The 2x and 3x crop modes produce softer, noisier images with reduced dynamic range. The 3x shots, in particular, struggle with graininess, making them less usable compared to standard wide-angle captures.
The Redmi Note 14 4G’s camera setup is a mixed bag. Its 108MP main sensor delivers solid results in both daylight and night photography, but the removal of the ultrawide camera, the limited usefulness of the macro and depth sensors, and the lack of 4K video recording may disappoint some users. The digital zoom is serviceable at best but struggles in low-light scenarios. For general use, the main camera performs well, but those looking for versatility may find the setup lacking.
Software, Battery
The Redmi Note 14 series runs on Xiaomi HyperOS, based on the Android 14 mobile platform, optimized for a smooth and intuitive user experience.

Powered by AI, the Redmi Note 14 offers smart features like AI Erase to remove unwanted objects and AI Sky, which lets you swap skies with various weather conditions. These tools enhance mobile photography, making it effortless to produce stunning images.

The Redmi Note 14 comes with a beefy 5500 mAh battery, promising up to 1.48 days of use on a single charge. When it's time to recharge, the phone supports 33W fast charging, which, according to the company, can take you from 0 to 55% in 40 minutes, and 100% in 77 minutes.

PCMark Battery Life Test |
The device lasted 14 hours and 37 minutes in the PCMark battery life test. In our actual fast charging test, the device reached 55% in 43 minutes and was fully charged in 82 minutes.
In the budget segment, the battery's long-term performance is quite impressive. The Redmi Note 14's battery is designed to maintain over 80% of its original capacity even after 1600 charge cycles over four years, thanks to its smart battery management system. This means you can expect solid performance over time, reducing concerns about battery wear or the need for constant recharges.
Should you Buy the Redmi Note 14 4G?
The Redmi Note 14 4G refines the formula set by its predecessor, offering a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 108MP main camera, and a reliable 5500mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Its design remains familiar with flat edges and an IP54 rating, while the Helio G99-Ultra chipset ensures smooth everyday performance and casual gaming. However, the removal of the ultrawide camera and the inclusion of mostly decorative secondary sensors may feel like a downgrade for some users.
Overall, this is more of an incremental update rather than a game-changer. If you're using an older Redmi Note without a high-refresh-rate AMOLED panel or a 108MP camera, it’s a solid upgrade. However, for Redmi Note 13 4G users, the improvements may not be significant enough to justify switching.
