Infinix to Launch NOTE 50 Series on March 20 with Full-Metal Design and AI Features

Infinix is set to unveil the NOTE 50 Series on March 20, introducing the One-Tap Infinix AI∞ as a key feature. The upcoming device is expected to be the first sub-$500 smartphone with a full-metal body, utilizing an innovative unibody metal casting process inspired by new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturing. This approach integrates lightweight materials, streamlined production, and enhanced durability, aiming to deliver a more efficient and eco-friendly smartphone design.

Tesla pioneered integrated steel-aluminum casting technology in electric vehicles, reducing costs by 40%, cutting production time from 1-2 hours to under 2 minutes, and making structures lighter yet more durable. Infinix appears to be adapting these high-efficiency techniques for smartphones, signaling a potential shift in mobile device manufacturing.

ArmorAlloy

Most smartphones under $500 still use plastic or glass backs, but the upcoming Infinix NOTE Series is expected to feature real metal ArmorAlloy. This material combines Damascus steel’s toughness with aluminum alloy’s lightweight durability, making the device more scratch-resistant and corrosion-proof. The use of recyclable metal also enhances its sustainability.

HyperCasting Technology: Reinventing Smartphone Production

Apart from that, reports suggest that Infinix is developing HyperCasting, a process where aluminum alloy is melted at 700°C and molded under 600 tons of clamping force. This method eliminates 22 welding points, making the frame 3g lighter and more durable while improving heat dissipation. If implemented, this could be a breakthrough for mobile gaming and high-performance devices.

The Infinix NOTE 50 Series features an octagonal camera module, drawing inspiration from high-performance car air intakes, diamond-cut patterns, and luxury jewelry designs. The design blends functionality with aesthetics, catering to users who value both technology and style.
