realme X3 SuperZoom Unboxing, First Impressions, Sample Photos

realme x3 superzoom unboxing

realme X3 SuperZoom is by far the most powerful handset the company has ever released in the Philippines. It's also the first smartphone off the X series to hit the shores this year. We've seen realme wowed us before with feature-packed releases in the mid-range category, but this time, the company pushes for the "affordable flagship segment." And it's going to be more exciting.

realme X3 SuperZoom Unboxing

This is our unboxing and first look of the realme X3 SuperZoom. We are quite intrigued with its periscope camera since it's one of the features that has been catching fans' attention in the past months; and of course, we would also love to try how speedy the phone can get with the flagship-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset. So join us in this realme X3 SuperZoom Unboxing and First Impressions.

The realme X3 SuperZoom is still packaged with the classic yellow box with gray accents. We got the realme X3 SuperZoom branding on the main face of the box, as well as on the majority of the sides. Underneath, the box prints the phone’s marquee features - Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset with Hyperboost, 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display, 64MP AI Quad Camera with 60x SuperZoom, and dual in-display selfie cameras. Looking into these specs, we can definitely say that we're up for a flagship treat.

Of course, we have the Arctic White colorway for our review unit. It comes with a whopping 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. Once we got the lid open, we are greeted by the small packet which houses essential stuff like the paperworks and the dark-tinted soft case. Digging further, we have the main unit, and under the cardboard partition is the 30-watts wall adapter and the USB Type C cable. Of course, there's a PIN ejector tool below the Type C cable.

Design Impressions

Holding the realme X3 SuperZoom confirms our impression of an aesthetically premium handset. Its footprint is quite wider compared to the recently released realme phones. We love the backing which automatically rejects fingerprints and gradually shimmers when struck by a light source. I could say that the back panel is entirely made of glass which persuades me to snap the included case right away. I love the consistency of realme's design philosophy across its devices, and the X3 SuperZoom definitely maintains the aesthetics.

The frame comes with a different story, it is made of plastic with curved edges making the handset comfortable to hold. The railings might have a different color than the backing but the silvery hue is something that compliments a white panel.

All in all, the build is quite impressive. Along the sides, there's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button on the right; the volume rocker is on the left; the top houses a microphone; while the bottom is a home to the SIM tray, microphone, USB Type C port, and speaker grill. Sadly, realme left the standard 3.5-mm audio jack in the cutting room.

The handset frames a 6.6-inch display with 1080 x 2400p resolution. It packs a full HD+ resolution with 399 ppi pixel density. The display also boasts the 120Hz refresh rate, this means that screen refresh is faster compared to the Realme 6 and 6 Pro.

This is the smoothest realme display that I've used so far. This is impressive when it comes to navigating the user interface, of course we will love to test it in one of our favorite gaming titles in our review. Stay tuned for that.

The 64MP AI Quad Camera Impressions

Looking into the camera module, you'll instantly notice the rectangular slot that's framed by a yellow rectangle accents on top of the vertically piled sensors. That's the 8MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x physical zoom capability. In hybrid zoom, the rear camera module is capable up to 60x zoom. The main shooter is a 64MP Quad-Bayer sensor. There's also an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP sensor for the macro.

On top of that, the selfie module is composed of a 32MP main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. We have tested the 60x zoom; and the front camera. You can check the photos below.

The Wrap

The realme X3 SuperZoom is a different animal compared to other devices the company has launched before. It's very promising, and from the looks of it, it could give great value in its supposed price point. And speaking of price, join realme PH as it launches the new realme X3 SuperZoom on July 9 via a livestream event. See you there!
