Huawei Mate XS is a powerful foldable with Kirin 990, 8GB RAM and 5G connectivity.
Huawei Mate XS is a follow up to last year’s Mate X foldable phone. This has been announced in yesterday’s Together, Thinking Possibilities event which streamed from Barcelona, Spain. Huawei Philippines also streamed the event locally in Grand Hyatt Manila.

The Mate XS features a quad-layer 8-inch OLED display but when folded, it becomes a usable phone-shaped device. On our brief hands on with the device, I could tell that crease is does not really appear in the folded area.
What’s even more exciting is the fact that the device is powered by Kirin 990 chipset with 5G connectivity. This is supported with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It boots with EMUI 10 with Android 10 and a much improved App Gallery.
The Huawei Mate XS is powered by 4500 mAh battery which supports 55W charging. The company says the Huawei Mate XS could charge up to 85% in just 30 minutes. It does not come off cheap though, it costs 2500 EUR. No local price has been announced yet.
