I admit I’m kind of skeptical
about the miniature iPad until the release of Apple’s invite which tells everybody
that they’ve “…got a little more to show” us. Unlike the iPhone 5’s Yerba Buena
event, the invite says that it will be held in the California Theatre in San
Jose on October 23.
More than what we have expected,
Apple is also speculated to be brewing the announcement of the 13-inch MacBook
Pro with Retina moniker, new line-ups of iMacs and the Mac mini.
But above anything else, the iPadMini launch is most likely to happen, setting itself free from the rumor mill.
The smaller iPad is expected to have a 7.85-inch screen and allegedly be a
smaller iPad 2 – meaning it won’t have a Retina display. That certainly makes
sense since Apple is targeting this slate to be in direct competition to other affordable
Android 7 inchers.
It could also come in 12 configurations
offering WiFi-only, cellular-only or both in 8, 16, 32 or 64GB models. Ballpark
figures for iPad mini’s pricing will be in USD 249 to 299 to make the device
more reasonable.
Again, I am happy to remind you
to mark your calendars next Tuesday for the said event and stay tuned for more
developments on the iPad mini.
