Cherry Mobile Fusion Bolt officially released: 7-inch screen, 1GHz Quad-Core, 1GB RAM, Jelly Bean at Php 3,999

Cherry Mobile officially released their first ever quad-core device today in Diamond Hotel Manila. And just like what the blogosphere is expecting, the local fruit company dropped a tablet and they called it Fusion Bolt.

Before the official announcement, the device was expected to be a rebranded Ainol Novo 7 Venus, but it turns out that this slate is a trimmed down version of the said device. Most of the specs dont come as a surprise, but the price does. How much? It's a jaw-dropping Php 3,999.

For the specs-centered, the device runs in a 1 GHz ATM7029 quad-core CPU varying from the 1.5 GHz of the original Novo 7  Venus tab. I'm not sure if the screen packs IPS display but on paper CM tagged it with 216 ppi. Aside from the quad-core CPU, the 1GB of RAM will keep everything smooth.

So could this tablet give you a zippy 'quad-core" performance? That depends on how you define a "quad-core" device. If you want a Nexus 7-ish performance, I doubt if this device could deliver. For one, the ATM7029 chokes-up dust when paired to the Nexus 7's Tegra 3.

But with Php 3,999 price tag, this will definitely be the tablet version of Cherry Mobile Flare. There's no doubt that it will attract consumers that are longing for a Jelly Bean device - yes that's the buttery Android 4.1 you'll have out of the box. Plus the 2MP rear and VGA front snapper are added perks that you'll get in this very tempting tablet. Battery is rated 4000 mAh so expect it to have a run time of 5 to 10 hours.

Cherry Mobile Fusion Bolt is definitely a feature-packed tablet that is strategically priced at Php 3,999. Like most of you, I am also excited to lay my hands on this tablet, but I guess we'll just have to wait for next month to see it coming.
