Xiaomi has introduced the 18 Fold in China, a compact foldable that combines the company’s new XRING O3 processor with a Leica-powered camera system and a large 6,000 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold takes a different route from larger book-style foldables. Its passport-style form factor measures just 5.02mm when unfolded and weighs 219 grams, while still fitting a 7.58-inch foldable AMOLED display inside.
The outer screen measures 5.38 inches, and both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi also rates the displays at up to 4,000 nits, which puts the focus on visibility as well as the phone’s slim profile.
The XRING O3 sits at the heart of the phone. Xiaomi uses a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU in the chip, with configurations that go up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The highest-end version also gets LPDDR6 memory.
On the camera side, Xiaomi pairs a 200MP main camera with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The telephoto camera supports 3.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilization, while Leica remains part of the imaging package.
The big surprise comes in the battery department. Despite the slim foldable design, the Xiaomi 18 Fold carries a 6,000 mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone also comes with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC, stereo speakers, and IP58/IP59 protection. Xiaomi will offer several finishes, with prices starting at CNY 10,999 in China.
For now, the Xiaomi 18 Fold remains a China-market release. Xiaomi has yet to announce plans for other markets.
