Apple has introduced AirPods 5 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a new multiport acoustic architecture, and next-generation Adaptive EQ. The new open-ear earbuds start at Php 9,490 in the Philippines, while the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case costs Php 10,990.
AirPods 5 bring ANC to Apple’s open-ear design and can reduce up to 50 percent more external noise than AirPods 4 with ANC, according to Apple. The earbuds also feature an improved Transparency mode that keeps voices and nearby sounds more natural. Adaptive Audio can automatically balance ANC and Transparency mode based on the surroundings, while Conversation Awareness lowers media volume when the user starts speaking.
Apple also reworked the acoustic system with a new multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ. The changes aim to deliver richer and more detailed audio across a wider range of ear shapes. AirPods 5 also support Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking for compatible content.
AirPods 5 add Voice Isolation for clearer calls in noisy environments. The feature uses the H2 chip and machine learning to separate the user’s voice from surrounding sounds. The earbuds also support Live Listen and Audio Sharing on compatible Apple devices.
The earbuds also support Siri Interactions through head gestures. Users can nod to accept a call or shake their head to dismiss it. AirPods 5 also work with Find My, which can help locate misplaced earbuds and the charging case.
The AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case gets a few extras. It adds a force sensor with volume swipe, so users can adjust volume directly from the stem. Battery life reaches up to five hours with ANC on a single charge and up to 22 hours with the charging case. The case supports Apple Watch chargers, Qi-compatible chargers, and USB-C.
AirPods 5 also support improved dust, sweat, and water resistance. Apple says the earbuds use 40 percent recycled material overall, while the wireless charging case uses 70 percent recycled plastic and its battery uses 100 percent recycled cobalt.
For the Philippine market, AirPods 5 cost Php 9,490, while the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case costs Php 10,990. Both models are coming soon to the Philippines.
