DJI just dropped the Osmo Action 6, and this action camera brings real upgrades and pushes the boundaries even further. The global launch introduces a new optical system, a larger sensor, and workflow improvements that aim to streamline daily shooting.
The Osmo Action 6's biggest upgrade is the variable aperture from f/2.0 to f/4.0. Users can switch between Auto, Fixed, Starburst, and Large Aperture modes depending on the scene. DJI also equipped the camera with a new 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor, which improves dynamic range, strengthens low-light performance, and enables a 4K Custom Mode that records a 3840 × 3840 square format for flexible reframing across vertical, horizontal, or square platforms.

The camera retains the familiar rugged design from previous models but introduces more efficient handling. DJI added a Dual-Direction Quick-Release System that allows faster mounting and easier repositioning. The dual OLED touchscreens offer higher brightness and maintain responsiveness even with wet hands. The unit comes with 64 GB of built-in storage, with 50 GB available for immediate use.
Video quality benefits from improved color accuracy and multiple stabilization modes. These include RockSteady 3.0, RockSteady 3.0+, HorizonBalancing, and full 360° HorizonSteady. Each mode addresses different motion scenarios, giving creators stable footage during fast action or rapid movement.
The Osmo Action 6 supports 10-bit D-Log M color, 4K slow motion, lossless zoom, and Macro Lens compatibility for detailed close-up shots. Wireless transfers reach higher speeds through Wi-Fi 6. The combination of optical upgrades, stronger stabilization, and workflow features positions the Osmo Action 6 as a flexible tool for content creators across travel, sports, and daily vlogging.
