Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the company’s latest flagship smartphones that bring larger displays, an upgraded camera system, and what Apple calls the biggest battery in any iPhone ever.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max now features a 6.9-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch display. Both models are protected by the new Ceramic Shield 2, which now covers both the front and back. This is three times more scratch resistance and an anti-reflective finish.
New Camera System: All 48MP Rear Cameras
Apple has introduced an all-new camera system across both models. The front now carries an 18MP Center Stage camera, while the rear setup includes three 48MP Fusion lenses with support for up to 8x optical zoom. The new sensors are 56% larger than those on the iPhone 16 Pro series, promising better light capture and detail.
For video, the iPhone 17 Pro models now support ProRes RAW capture and Genlock synchronization, making them more capable for professional-grade recording.
Performance and Thermal Management
Both models are powered by the new A19 Pro chip, built to deliver higher performance efficiency. Apple also introduced a new thermal management system that uses a custom-designed vapor chamber, aimed at keeping the devices cooler under heavy workloads such as gaming and video capture.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max takes the spotlight with the largest battery ever fitted into an iPhone, coupled with improved efficiency for what Apple claims is the best battery life on an iPhone to date. Notably, the eSIM-only model is expected to last longer than the SIM card variant.
Colors and Pricing
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will be available in Silver, Cosmic Orange, and Deep Blue finishes. Pricing starts at Php 79,990 for the iPhone 17 Pro and Php 86,990 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
