LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled its latest hotel TVs with built-in Google Cast at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. Running from February 4 to 7, the event showcases LG’s new hospitality TV lineup which enables hotel guests to securely stream content from their devices. The Google Cast integration enhances access to OTT streaming services which reinforces LG’s presence in the hospitality TV market.
Starting January 10, LG Hotel TVs running webOS23 or later will support Google Cast with hotel-specific features. The implementation includes network isolation to protect guest privacy across hotel rooms. Users can connect personal devices by scanning a QR code displayed on the TV screen; this enables seamless content streaming without logging into OTT apps. The connection remains active throughout their stay and automatically resets upon check-out for added security.
LG continues to expand its presence in the hospitality market, offering hotel TVs, software, and digital signage solutions. In 2023, LG introduced the first hotel TV with Apple AirPlay, which launched globally in 2024. With the addition of Google Cast, LG’s hospitality TVs are now the first to support both AirPlay and Google Cast simultaneously. The company also provides the Pro:Centric management solution, enabling hotels to customize in-room content displayed when guests check in.
Google emphasized the benefits of LG’s smart hotel TVs, with Tiger Lan, senior director of engineering for multi-device experiences at Google, stating that LG Hotel TVs with Google Cast will enhance guest entertainment options. Paik Ki-mun, head of Information Display Business at LG, highlighted the growing demand for in-room streaming, noting that Google Cast integration aims to deliver a secure and user-friendly streaming experience similar to home entertainment.
