Epson Introduces ColorWorks CW-C8050: Next-Gen Label Printer for High-Volume Workflows

The ColorWorks CW-C8050 builds on the foundation of its predecessor, the CW-C7510/G, Epson’s first industrial color label printer featuring PrecisionCore printhead technology. Introduced in 2015, the CW-C7510/G set a standard for industrial printing. The CW-C8050 incorporates advanced features aimed at meeting the demands of high-volume industrial sectors in Southeast Asia.

Precision and Efficiency in High-Volume Label Printing

The CW-C8050 is designed for cost-effective, high-quality label production. It features PrecisionCore Heat-Free technology and UltraChrome DL pigment inks, producing smudge- and fade-resistant labels with consistent colors, smooth gradations, sharp text, and precise barcodes. The printer offers a print speed of up to 11.8 inches per second, catering to on-demand printing needs.

The device supports various media types, including matte and gloss paper, film, and synthetic materials, with print widths from 1 to 4 inches. Its adjustable platen gap accommodates thicker media up to 0.6mm. Features like spot color management and ICC profiling are included to support accurate color reproduction.

Maintenance and Ink Efficiency

The CW-C8050 is built with features to minimize maintenance requirements. Nozzle Verification Technology (NVT) detects and addresses nozzle issues, while dot substitution prevents misprints. The auto-maintenance function works to maintain consistent performance with reduced user intervention.

The printer’s high-capacity ink packs offer a total capacity of 1.9 liters, reducing the frequency of refills and minimizing consumable waste. This results in a lower cost per milliliter while supporting extended printing operations.

Integration and Connectivity

The CW-C8050 supports USB 3.0, high-speed Ethernet, and an I/O port for flexible connectivity. Optional Wi-Fi and cloud printing are also supported. Compatibility with ESC/Label commands, SAP Direct Printing, and middleware ensures smooth integration with existing systems. Epson Cloud Solution PORT enables remote monitoring of printer status, ink consumption, and operation history.
