realme 10 Pro 5G Unboxing + First Impressions

The realme 10 Pro 5G is the base 5G-version unit of the series. It streamlines a couple of promising specs that we have not seen in the previously released realme 10 like the 5G connectivity and the more powerful camera.

The new model is coming into a fiercely contested early 2023 releases; and by the looks of it, the realme 10 Pro 5G could capture a massive number of users on its launch given its enticing upgrades as well as the brand's popularity in the country. We have tested the phone for quite some time now, and it left a whole new level of impression on us. Let's check it out.

What's in the Box?

Our review unit is the Nebula Blue variant of the realme 10 Pro 5G. Like what we have in the previous releases, the box comes with documentations, silicone case, 33-watt power adapter, SIM eject tool, and the USB-C cable.

Design: Same Stunning realme Design

Just like the standard realme 10, the Pro 5G variant adapts a flatter design with angled edges. This is quite a departure from the curved elements that was featured from the previous number series' releases. This also makes the handset more refreshing to use and could definitely compete with other 2023 models in terms of design and ergonomics.

At 190 grams, the weight of the 10 Pro is quite manageable compared to its predecessor thanks to the all-plastic build of this device. The now slimmer body, at 8.1mm, adds more to its ergonomics.

realme is known for flashy back design, and the 10 Pro 5G is not an exception. The back panel features a brushed aesthetic with matte finish. What's the good thing about this finish is it instantly negates fingerprints. The Nebula Blue colorway gives off pinches of pink and gold when seen on oblique angles.

The frame also comes with a light-blue hue. This houses the usual ports and buttons of the phone - the right side has the power button (doubles as fingerprint sensor), the left side has the SIM tray, while the bottom side is a home for the 3.5-mm audio jack, microphone, USB-C port, and speaker grille.

Display with Ultra-Thin Bezels

The realme 10 Pro 5G is a standout with its three-side ultra-thin bezels; these frame the large 6.7-inch LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate and 680-nit peak brightness. The chin is relatively large compared to the side bezels, but it's still thin when compared to other phones in this segment.

The panel is very bright even when used outdoors. I'm quite satisfied with the display panel; I tried playing videos in YouTube and it did not disappoint. There's also a good pair of stereo speakers that complements the awesome display. I am excited to binge more shows with this one.

For the camera buffs, the handset employs a whopping 108MP, f/1.8 sensor for its main camera. It is paired with a 2MP f/2.4 sensor for depth sensing - responsible for portraits and bokeh effects on your shots. On the front, there's a 16MP, f/2.5 wide camera for wide selfie shots. In our initial testing, I think the selfie camera is very promising. I love the tone and blend of the beautification settings on the camera app.

You'll also get 5000 mAh battery with 33-watt wired charging. realme says that it could charge your phone up to 50% in just 29 minutes. Running the whole show is the latest version of realme UI - version 4.0 - that's on top of Android 13.
