Unboxing, Design

Opening it, you will be greeted by cylindrical units of Deco X50, a flat LAN cable, quick installation guide, and power adapter for the respective packs.
The Deco X50 units come in a clean white hue that could suit well in most household design. On the top, it has its iconic sloped section giving the node a futuristic appeal. I loved that fact that the power bricks also come in white hues which matches the Deco units very well.
Underneath, there are elevated rubber pads to keep the unit from sliding on slippery surfaces; this is also a home to the reset slot and LED indicator. On the Deco X50's body, you'll find a series of ports - three (3) Gigabit Ethernet ports and a power slot - all aligned under the TP-Link logo.
How to Setup the TP-Link Deco X50 AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router System?
Just like any other mesh routers, setting up the TP-Link Deco X50 Mesh Router is just a walk in the park. We have a 2-pack Deco X50 units; this means that we'll have to setup one unit as our primary node and the other unit as our secondary node. Once you've unboxed the items, you need to install and open the TP-Link Deco app, and follow the straightforward instructions.
The app will ask you to connect to your modem with the Ethernet cable, and plug in your Deco unit to a power source. After a series of status checking, the app will let you connect to your Deco Wi-Fi and assign where you placed your Deco unit (e.g. bedroom, hallway, living room, office, study, etc.). You'll then be able to configure your Deco Wi-Fi network's name and password.
After a successful setup, you can just add another Deco unit by tapping the add icon on the upper right of your network's homescreen. The setup could be finished in less than 10 minutes.

Of course, since this is a Wi-Fi 6 Mesh router, you'll enjoy all the niceties of the Wi-Fi 6 technology - MU-MIMO, OFDMA, WPA3 encryption, and more. Plus, you can also setup a Guest Network for your visitors just in case you're not comfortable in giving out passwords of your home network. You can limit the bandwidth, speed, and even time of use of the guest network.
