The TouchElex Harley is a very promising smartwatch. On paper, it ticks most of the boxes we need for a basic smartwatch - continuous heart rate monitoring, SpO2 sensor, large display, fast processor, waterproofing, and more.
TouchElex Harley Smartwatch Review
The brand aims to get a chunk of the smartwatch market in the country with this newest offering. And with the addition of TouchElex Harley, the company is getting a much deserved attention. If you're in the market for a new smartwatch right now, will the TouchElex Harley be a good choice for you? Let's find out in this review.
Design and Display
The TouchElex Harley settles with a rectangular-cased design. On plain sight, I could definitely tell that it has a big screen real estate. For starters, the watch has a 1.75-inch high-definition display; in the smartwatch world, that screen is quite huge. The screen is treated with strengthened 2.5D curved glass to facilitate smoothness when swiping through the screen.
The display is quite good for an LCD panel; it has convincing contrast and color saturation. Apart from that, you can take advantage of the bigger screen in managing calls, reading messages, tracking workouts, and more.
TouchElex Harley's case is made of aviation-grade aluminum which features two buttons on the right side - one is for the general back function and the other is a quick access key for the workout modes. The underside of the case is defined by a high-grade plastic. This is also the section where most of the sensors (if not all) are present. In addition, the case has 3ATM waterproofing; so an occasional swim in the pool or shower with the watch is not an issue.
The 22-mm silicone straps are of high quality; they have standard size so you can just swap other third party straps if you feel like it. The band is skin-friendly and made of TPU material.
I appreciate this Sage Green variant. It has a subdued appeal but can be classy and chic at the same time.
Software and Function
The TouchElex Harley is powered by Apollo 3.5 processor; it is a capable smartwatch built for ease of use. From the homescreen, you can easily access your main menus when you swipe either left or right. Swiping up reveals the notifications; while swiping down gives you access to quick toggles like Raise to Wake function, Settings, Brightness, Do Not Disturb, Flashlight, and Alarm.
From homescreen, pressing the upper function button gives you access to the watch's core features like SpO2, Workout, Workout Records, Heart Rate, Activity Records, Sleep, Breathing Training, Music, Messages, Weather, and more.
On the get-go, you need to setup the TouchElex Harley using the companion app that's available in both iOS and Android. With the app, you can take advantage of managing your workout, health, and sleep thru its data statistics and analysis. On top of that, you can also choose among a variety of watch faces; though it's worth-noting that you can only change the watch face inside the app, not in the watch itself.
The watch also comes with customized quick replies which is a very convenient feature to have when you could not reply to a message using your phone right away. However, this feature is only available for Android users.
Fitness Tracking and Battery Life
The TouchElex Harley offers health-tracking features just like the 24-hour heart rate monitoring, SpO2 measurement, and sleep analysis. When doing workout logs, the heart rate stats are included in your activity view which, for me, is a value added feature.
The blood oxygen monitoring feature also works well. For a watch in this price standpoint, I think the TouchElex Harley is one of the few devices that can pull this feature off. Talking about workout modes, the watch offers 14 of them - Outdoor Walk, Indoor Walk, Outdoor Run, Indoor Run, Outdoor Cycle, Spinning, Trekking, Basketball, Yoga, Rowing, Elliptical, Cricket, Strength Training, and Free Training. For the ladies, you can also track your menstrual cycle using this device.
The TouchElex Harley is also a winner when we talk about battery life. We had a full run in 10 days with the device. Moreover, the watch also supports fast charging; in fact, TouchElex Harley can hit 100% in just 1.5 hours.
Verdict: Should You Buy The TouchElex Harley smartwatch?
The TouchElex Harley is very ideal to those looking for a smartwatch with bigger screen real estate, and those who are very particular with SpO2 and 24-hour HR monitoring. I also love its design and construction; and of course, the color options (midnight black, flamingo pink, and sage green). It's priced at Php 2990, and I think it offers great value than the price it's asking.
