PayMaya among world's best at Emerging Payments Awards

Digital financial services leader PayMaya made waves anew at the global stage by winning two coveted awards at the Emerging Payments Awards in London, the only Philippine company recognized in the prestigious program.

PayMaya among the world's best at Emerging Payments Awards 2021

Organized by The Payment Association (formerly known as Emerging Payments Association), the Emerging Payments Awards (EPA) "celebrate innovation, collaboration, and emerging payments by recognizing companies that have made significant advances in how we pay today."

PayMaya recognized as a Leading Emerging Payments Organization

For showing commercial success for its end-to-end payment ecosystem model, PayMaya received the Leading Emerging Payments Organization Award, besting other companies from United Kingdom, Sweden, and South Africa.

Most Innovative Mobile / Financial Service Payments Solutions

PayMaya's consumer e-wallet app won as the Most Innovative Mobile or Financial Service Payments Solution for providing value-adding and innovative solutions that are beneficial to users. In 2016, the EPA also recognized the PayMaya app as the world's best payment solution.

"It is an honor for us to be recognized as the leading emerging payments organization and for having the most innovative payment app in this year's Emerging Payments Awards," said Shailesh Baidwan, PayMaya President.

"These recognitions are testaments to the hard work, innovative spirit, and excellence in execution of the PayMaya team. We are also humbled as it is a reminder of our commitment to bring superior financial services to Filipinos," he added.

Only end-to-end digital FinServ platform of the Philippines

As the recipient of EPA’s Leading Emerging Payments Organization award, PayMaya was lauded as the country's only fintech that provides an e-wallet for consumers, payments acceptance solutions for enterprises, and digital touchpoints through its agent network in communities. This unique ecosystem has allowed its users and merchants to enjoy a more convenient, accessible, and enriching digital payments experience.

Meanwhile, the PayMaya app has undergone a significant refresh, with pioneering innovations such as Maya Mall and digital KYC (know your customer) account upgrade experience. The app has brought superior features such as 99.9% uptime and real-time transaction history; widest free cash-in channels; free send and request money; the greatest number of billers and load items at over 1,500; custom send money themes; and exclusive rewards.

PayMaya joined other companies as a finalist for the Best CSR or Charity Initiative for its #OneAgainstCOVID program, which has enabled over 50 humanitarian organizations to accept donations via the PayMaya app, PayMaya QR, or website.

Its Bayanihan Digital Ayuda program was likewise a finalist for the Best Financial Inclusion Payments Initiative for enabling the digital disbursement of financial aid directly to the PayMaya accounts of citizen beneficiaries.
