OPPO unveils the newest addition to its growing Reno portfolio of smartphones - the Reno5 A. It offers immersive AMOLED display, IP68 build, smooth performance, good camera capabilities, among other noteworthy features.
The OPPO Reno5 A frames a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400p resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display also features 405 PPI, 1500: 1 contrast ratio, and 550 nits peak brightness. It can output 16.77 million colors (8 bits) and covers 96% / 100% of NTSC / DCI-P3 color gamuts. Given these features, the screen is expected to deliver a smooth scrolling experience and lifelike colors.
Under the hood, the Reno5 A is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G octa-core CPU supported by 6GB of RAM for a seamless experience even when running heavy apps and games. The 128GB storage is expandable by up to 1TB via microSD.
As for optics, OPPO Reno5 A equips a four rear camera set-up. This consists of the 64MP, f/1.7 main sensor together with the 8MP, f/2.2, 119° ultrawide and two 2MP, f/2.4 modules for monochrome and macros. On front, the smartphone comes with a 16MP, f/2.0 selfie punch-hole camera.
A 4000mAh battery powers up the phone with 18W fast charging. We take notice that the Reno5 A's features closely resemble those that we have seen with the OPPO Reno5 5G. To point out the main differences, we have a 16MP front camera unit for the Reno5 A vs the 32MP selfie lens for the reno5 5G. On the battery department, its a 4000 mAh battery capacity for the former with 18W charging vs 4300 mAh 65W fast charging of the latter. Moreover, the fingerprint reader is now positioned at the back of the device instead of an in-display reader as we have seen with the reno5 5G.
For connectivity, the reno5 A is 5G-ready and supports single-SIM, dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth v5.1, GNSS (GPS, A-GPS, BeiDou, QZSS), and NFC. It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone is already IP68-rated which means that it is completely dust-tight and also offers water resistance. Other features include a USB 2.0 Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and dedicated microSD card slot.
