OPPO A53s 5G becomes official as one of the company's affordable 5G smartphones. It frames a 6.52-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) display. The smartphone gets an aspect ratio of 20:9 with the standard 60Hz refresh rate and 269ppi. From the looks of it, it has a relatively thick chin but has thin bezels on either side of the front panel. It also touts a waterdrop notch which houses the 8MP camera sensor. The phone comes in two color variants, Crystal Blue and Ink Black.
The OPPO A53s 5G, announced in India, features a triple camera setup. This includes a 13MP, f/2.2, 25mm main sensor, together with 2MP f/2.4 macro and 2MP, f/2.4 depth sensors. The camera can shoot up to 1080p at 30fps videos.
Under the hood, the A53s 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 700 octa-core CPU. It is paired with up to 8GB RAM for smooth functioning; 6GB RAM for the base model. The 128GB storage is expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card.
With the 5G roll-outs in the country, OPPO is readying the guns for the budget segment. Though it's not cleat yet that the phone will be released locally, it is worth mentioning that the phone features not just one but two 5G SIM card slots. This allows users to take advantage of the 5G infrastructures of two Telcos.

The smartphone runs on ColorOS 11.1. This is based on Android 11 mobile platform. OPPO's proprietary UI is known for being a lot different from stock Android with high level of customization. With the ColorOS 11, it now looks simpler... and better. It promises smooth, efficient performance across the system.
We also have a fingerprint scanner that is side-mounted. And of course, there's the hefty 5000 mAh battery to support your daily grind. In fact, OPPO claims the battery can deliver 17.74 hours of continuous video playback. However, it would have been great if it also equipped with fast charging speed.
We don't have the price yet as it is still not official in the Philippines. But based on the phone's release in the Indian market, it has an official price of ₹16,990 which is ₱11,078 in today's exchange.
