OPPO A71 (2018) VS ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite
Display
The OPPO A71 (2018) still packs the same 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD display, the same footprint from the 2017 variant. The ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite also comes with the same screen size and HD IPS LCD display. Both comes with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and 282 ppi pixel density.
Internals
The OPPO A71 (2018) ticks with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, a newer-generation chipset which is developed in 14-nm process. It has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz speed. On the other hand, the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite is powered by Snapdragon 425 which is developed under 28-nm process. The chipset features a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, which ticks at 1.4GHz.
Both also comes with dedicated graphics and 2GB of RAM. When it comes to internals, the OPPO A71 (2018) grabs the bigger muscle but the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite is not far behind with its own SoC.
Camera
There's a 13MP rear shooter in OPPO A71's rear panel. Meanwhile, the ZenFone 4 Max Lite also comes with a 13MP shooter, but the handset instantly clouds the former with the addition of 5MP wide-angle lens This means that the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite has a dual camera set-up.
When it come to the selfie department, the OPPO A71 (2018) carries a 5MP camera which is expected to produce decent social media selfies with OPPO's AI Beauty Technology. The ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite has an 8MP front camera supported by its Beautification software.
We know that each of these handsets has their own implementation when it comes to selfies. OPPO A71 (2018) produces natural-looking stills and portraits while ZenFone 4 Max Lite's Beautification software offers more presets, and also controls so that users has more power in editing their selfies.
Battery
The OPPO A71 (2018) has 3000 mAh battery; knowing how efficient the Snapdragon 450 is, I could tell that the handset will excel in battery performance and efficiency. On paper, ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite aces the battery comparison due to its 4100 mAh battery. However, in real time performance, OPPO A71 (2018) could definitely give the ZenFone 4 Max Lite a run for its money in claiming the battery crown.
The Wrap
Both handsets offer great value for a sub-Php 8K price. The OPPO A71 (2018) has the best-in-class chipset for an entry-level device, the Snapdragon 450. Meanwhile, ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite gives you juicier battery life and more camera capability. We haven't tested OPPO A71's camera yet, but we're pretty sure it'll also deliver engaging photos and selfies. To answer the question on which device to pick, it's up for the users which of the feature-set they prefer.
Whatever route you may take, I'm pretty sure you'll get the most of your money.
