The LG V30
The LG V30 is built to take the spotlight from the Galaxy Note 8 and the soon to be released
iPhone 8. Since it’s under the V series, LG has loaded the V30 with cinematic capabilities
and cool video-oriented software in its native camera app.
LG V30 Display
The handset comes with a
6-inch QHD OLED display which frames 1440 x 2880 pixels with HDR10 and Dolby
Vision just like the LG G6. This time, LG scrapped the secondary display found
in the previous models and hailed a similar on-screen floating bar.
Hardware, Camera
Under the hood, the LG V30 ticks
with the latest and greatest chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835, and is
coupled with 4GB of RAM. You’ll get 64GB of internal storage with up to 256GB
expansion option via microSD card.
The LG V30 also comes with
Android 7.1.2 Nougat with LG’s proprietary skin on top. When it comes to the
camera, the V30 has a bucket-full of tricks. For one, the dual-camera setup is
defined by the impressive 16MP sensor with f/1.6 aperture for its primary
shooter. The secondary rear camera is a 120-degree wide-angle 13MP sensor with
f/1.9 aperture, while front camera is a 5MP affair.
Audio
In terms of the audio experience,
the LG V30 comes with a 3.5-mm headphone jack and a HiFi Quad DAC. It also
includes a 32-bit DAC with controls to tune the sound when necessary. The
handset is also rated with IP68 so it means that you could use your phone in
the pool or under the rain.
Battery, Connectivity, Availability
Other noteworthy features include
Bluetooth 5.0, 3300 mAh battery with Quick Charge tech, LTE-A connectivity and
USD Type C. The LG V30 will be available in Black, Silver, Midnight Blue and an
interesting Purple (or Orchid Gray-ish) hues. It’ll be released in Korea on
September 21. No Philippine launch has been announced yet, but we’ll keep you
posted as always.
