Pokemon Go updates with 80 new GEN 2 Pokemons, Berries, Avatar Customization and more

Pokemon Go team of highly-skilled developers will release a major update to the popular game this weekend. In fact, Niantic officially announced that there will be a bucket-full of updates which will delight trainers and persuade other gamers to go back to the game. Rumor has it that on February 18th, we will enjoy the much anticipated changes and improvement. Let's start jutting them down, here we go:

Pokemon Go updates with GEN 2 Pokemons

1. 80 NEW Gen 2 Pokemons

The update's marquee changelog is the introduction of 80 new pocket monsters. Thus, we should expect Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile and other exciting critters to lurk in the wild. On top of these new Pokemons to catch, the game will have gender-specific variations of these monsters.

2. New Encounter/ Capture System Gameplay

Niantic also intros new encounter gameplay wherein there will be an improvement on how a Pokemon react if it encountered a trainer. Likewise, the capturing system will also have a different twist among players.

3. Avatar Customization

For the longest time, players will now have the power to fully customize their avatar with an expanded wardrobe. The selection will feature a wide range of hats, shirts, pants and other accessories. This will take avatar personalization into a whole new level.

4. Evolution

Likewise, Pokemon Go will also include new items needed for evolution. Some Pokemons in Kanto region can also be evolved into Pokemon found in the Johto region.

5. New Berries and Item Carousel

You can now prompt an Item Carousel directly from the encounter screen to let you select Pokeballs, berries, etc. Speaking of berries, two new berries will be added - the Nanab and Pinap Berries. Giving a Pokémon a Nanab Berry will slow its movements, making it easier to catch. The Pinap Berry doubles the amount of Candy you’ll receive if your next catch attempt succeeds.

The new interface with item carousel looks promising. And more than the new Gen 2 Pokemons, I love the flexibility of making a unique avatar for myself. How about you? What's your favorite feature from the set of updates?
