Huawei GR5 2017 debuts in the Philippines at Php 13,990

Huawei has got another dual-cam smartphone in the country, and it comes with the name of GR5. Technically, we call it the Huawei GR5 2017 or the Huawei Mate 9 Lite. In contrast to the Mate and P line of smartphones, the Mate 9 Lite moniker will definitely make you think it’s a midrange handset; because yes, it is.

It comes with a dual camera module though, which allows it to rub elbows with its bigger brothers. The main shooter is a 12-megapixel affair while the secondary rear camera packs a 2-megapixel sensor. Thus, if you want to shoot with Bokeh effects, you can definitely do it with this handset. Not only that, the Huawei GR5 2017 comes with a premium-looking exterior and a design that you will most likely carry around wherever you go.

On paper, the GR5 is also convincing if we are to speak of its feature set. The display is a 5.5-inch full HD IPS panel that frames 1920 x 1080p resolution. Under the hood, it boasts a Kirin 655 octa-core processor which runs at 2.1GHz speed. The processor is also coupled by 3GB of RAM which allows faster app launching and multitasking activities. There’s also a 4GB variant if you’re rooting for the best “specced” version of the GR5.

Likewise, the 8-megapixel front camera is also a good addition to the beefy set of features. The Huawei GR5 2017 is packed with a decent 3,340 mAh battery to give you a good mileage; it also boots with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s proprietary EMUI 4.1 skin. There’s also an LTE connectivity and a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Huawei GR5 2017 is now available in Huawei stores nationwide at Php 13,990.
