Asus is heating up the entry-level stage with the newest Pegasus X002 smartphone. The new handset is packed with high-level feature set – 1.5-gigahertz quad-core processor, 4G LTE connectivity and 2GB of RAM.
Basically,
the Asus Pegasus X002 is strategically priced at USD 128 (more or less Php
5,700 in current exchange rates). The device is the Taiwanese outfit’s answer
to the success of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S. The nomenclature is in contrast with the
“Zen” or the “fone” line making it as an introduction to another smartphone
series.
The
Pegasus X002 boasts a 5-inch 720p HD display and 16GB internal memory across
the board. Likewise, you’ll get a capable 8-megapixel rear camera with LED
flash and 5-megapixel front camera. The chipset is defined with the 64-bit
MediaTek MT6732 with four Cortex A53 cores and Mali T760 MP2 GPU.
The
dual-SIM functionality will also give you the capability of juggling networks. Connectivity-wise,
the handset has TD-LTE connectivity on top of the basic 3G and 2G networks.
Asus
Pegasus X002 is powered by a 2500 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with Zen
UI skin. It is available in China as of this writing. There’s also high chance
that it could make it in different regions like the Philippines.
