Amazon's mysterious smartphone to have a 3D display, set to be unveiled this June 18th

Amazon is said to be brewing its first smartphone which is believed to have a 3D display. The retail giant recently teased us with invites to an event this 18th of June. It seems likely that the e-commerce company will finally unveil its first ever smartphone on the said event.

Amazon even released a video clip accompanying its announcement that shows people moving their heads on an unseen device. You will see these users saying “It moved with me” or "It’s very real life” and “It’s unlike anything I've ever seen” which suggests a whole new 3D experience.

Apart from the 3D display, information from a prototype device tells us that it is equipped with five front-facing cameras with multiple sensors to track facial and retina movements which will give users a glass-less 3D feel. It will have a 4.7-inch screen real estate. Hardware-wise, the device will be powered by an unidentified Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and will be coupled with 2GB of RAM.

Amazon has been working on this for quite some time and it is exciting to see this materialize beyond guesses and circulating rumors. With the success of its Kindle Fire in the tablet category, Amazon is set to test the waters  of the ubiquitous and lucrative mobile market.
