Sony has laid its cards on what gadgets will be getting the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update next year and it includes almost of the flagship devices and a fair share of 2012 mid-ranges.
Coming on the top of the list are
the “James Bond Phone” Xperia T, as well as its international brothers Xperia TX and
Xperia V. It has been said that update will be released anytime in Q1 2013.
Other phones that are included in the line-up global versions of Xperia S, Xperia
acro S, Xperia ion, Xperia go, Xperia J and Xperia P.
Devices not included in the list
that got the recent ICS update will unfortunately be stucked in the said
version. Sony said it has something to do with the hardware and they “would not
be able to guarantee the owners of these smartphones the user experience you
expect and we demand.”
Sony will however continue the
support for the phones not included in the line-up with firmware maintenance
releases.
