Specifications are in for the
Galaxy S III Mini! The rumor that Samsung will be releasing a miniature version
of their best selling smartphone to date was confirmed yesterday. Now, the
Korean giant has unveiled the device in a press launch in Germany.
Aside from the christened Galaxy
S name of this new device, it is a no brainer that it belongs to the midrange
department. Yes, the “Mini” moniker doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a
scaled-down powerhouse version of the Galaxy flagships.
This “compact yet powerful
smartphone” will come pre-installed with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), one of the
great things that will potentials buyers to the device. At par with the
recently leaked rumor, S III mini will sport a 4-inch Super AMOLED display that
is contained in a semi-curved frame. Under the hood, this newbie will run in a
1 GHz dual-core processor and will have a 5MP rear shooter. Likewise a
front-facing camera will also be there in VGA quality with LED flash.
Memory-wise, it’ll have a 1GB of
RAM and flash storages of 8GB and 16 GB (expandable to 32GB). One deal breaker
is that S III mini does not support 4G LTE, only NFC. The juiced-up 1500 mAh
battery completes the specs. Samsung press is short of information when it
comes to its availability and pricing.
