Sony announces
two new Xperias that will fall in its NXT Generation Android line – the Sony
Xperia Acro S and Sony Xperia Go. You can tell that these are Xperiaphones by the looks of it – a thought that Sony established upon unveiling the
NXT line last year.
But what makes these
new phones different from its predecessor is its ruggedness. According to Sony,
these phones are water-proof and have enhanced protection against elements. Xperia
Acro S had passed IP55 and IP57 ratings for both dust and water resistance.
Moreover the Xperia Go also passed the IP67.
Xperia Acro S has a shatter-proof,
scratch-resistant 4.3-inch HD Reality Display and runs in a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon
processor. It is infused with Ice Cream Sandwich, 1GB worth of RAM and on board
16GB storage. It also supports GLONASS satellite positioning system and NFC.
