The first ever edition of the Smart Netphone 701 is selling like hotcakes with its massive price drop to Php 4999. This ZTE Blade version has been the flagship of the said series because it’s the only-Netphone branded device. Its Samsung Galaxy Y little brother has also been gathering some spotlight in the last quarter of 2011.
Aside from its SmartNet capability, it also offers the UnliSocial feature that captivates the Filipino consumers. Netphone 701 is previously priced at Php 9,990, the new price is almost half of the previous.
Since its release in September last year, this version of Smartphone has been quite slow, the Galaxy Y version has even buried it in sales. HTC Desire S has also been reported to be in the Netphone line up. On the other hand, the Galaxy Y version has a suggested retail price of Php 5,990 and is very popular in Smart Plan 349. This had caused third party vendors to sell the unit in a higher price due to its increasingly high demand before Christmas of last year.
However, this latest price drop of Smart could mean that they are eagerly disposing the ZTE Blade version. And could this mean that they have a new handset for the line? Hmmm, quite interesting.
