A considerable number smartphone manufacturers has left the standard 3.5-mm audio jack in the cutting room this year. This opens to a new market of wireless earphones, especially the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) category. Most of the times, these TWS earpieces come with hefty prices but Digital Walker offers a high quality alternative in an affordable price, the Joyroom JR-T04S TWS Earbuds.

Design-wise, the earbuds features a flat-rectangular body which is unique compared to other TWS earphones with rounded-tubular body. You can see the charging contacts and the mic at the end of body and the multi-function button on the earbuds itself. The perforated sound vents are also similar to those of an Apple Airpods.

Pairing the JR-T04s is such a breeze. There are two methods in pairing both earphones. One, when you open the case, both earphones will turn on and will be paired to each other automatically. The other method is when both earphones are out of the case, pressing the multi-function button will turn on the device and will automatically be paired with each other. You can always double click the button to enter pairing mode especially if it's not your first pairing.

Afterwhich, you also need to paired the earbuds to your device by for Joyroom JR-T04S in your Bluetooth device's list. You'll know when the Joyroom is in pairing mode when the main earphone alternately flashes orange and white lights (the auxiliary earphone will not flash lights). For forced pairing to your mobile phone or device, you can press and hold the multi-function button for 5 seconds.

Assigning Primary Earphones and Single Earphone Mode

The first headphone taken out of the charging case will be the primary earphone. In case you only want to use a single earphone, you can assign one by taking out an earphone (left or right) out of the case and it'll automatically be in pairing mode (orange and while lights flashes). Or you can manually pair a single earphone by pressing and holding the multi-function button for 5-6 seconds.

If you want to use a single earpiece, you can also individually pair it to your device by just long pressing the multi-function button. When primary earphone is turned off, the auxiliary earphone will automatically shift to primary earphone mode.

Performance

When it comes to the sound quality, the JR-T04S could definitely hold a candle against the likes of Huawei Freebuds Lite, Galaxy Buds and Apple Airpods. The bass is very clear with mids and highs hitting the right registry.

Skip, Play, Pause

Skipping music with the Joyroom JR-T04S is also a breeze. When in dual earphone mode, you can just press and hold the multi-function button on the right earphone to skip to the next track or press the button on the left earphone to go back to the previous track. Short pressing the button will either play and pause the track. However, if you're in single mode, you can only skip to the next track.

What's even more exciting is the fact that it supports Siri. You can double press the button on either earbuds to activate or deactivate Siri virtual assistant. Sadly, there's no Google Assistant support for this feature.

Calls

Taking calls with the Joyroom JR-T04S is also easy. You just have to press the multi-function button to take calls. You can also end calls by pressing the button. Pressing and holding the button will reject the call. Whenever you're in a call, you can switch taking the call from earphones to your smarthphone by pressing and holding the button for 2 seconds.

Charging

The JR-T04S will prompt you when the battery is low. Putting the earphones in the case will have them in automatic charging mode. The charging case white LED indicator will also turn on. Once the earphone if fully charged, the orange LED indicator on the earphone will turn off.

It's also worth-noting that this earpieces give 3.5 hours of call time and a whopping 30 hours of standby time. Plus, it uses Bluetooth 5.0 which is better in terms of battery efficiency, performance and range compared to other TWS devices with older Bluetooth version.

The Wrap

The Joyroom JR-T04s poses a great deal for those shifting to wireless audio experience in their devices. It is a very convincing TWS earbuds and is positioned to be a good alternative to Apple Airpods or Samsung Galaxy Buds.

It's also a great workout companion which gives high-quality sound for your fitness activities. I also love the fact that it comes with bi-aural capabilities which definitely give users flexibility in using these earphones.

For its price, the Joyroom JR-T04s is a better deal than most TWS earpods around.
