Cherry Mobile Garnet: Dual-Core Android Jellybean phone at P1,899

After the successful launch of Sapphire and Quartz, top local brand, Cherry Mobile, yet again released another model from their Gem line of smartphones – The Cherry Mobile Garnet.

This new handset is certainly a good buy for people who are looking for sub-2k smartphone in the market. Cherry Mobile Garnet is the cheapest Gem model to have Android 4.2 Jellybean and a gigahertz of dual core processor.

At P1,899, it has a lot in store for the users. It flaunts a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with HVGA display. The 2GB ROM which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD is fairly sufficient for storing applications, photos, videos, music and other files. It also has Mali 400 GPU and 256MB RAM to back up the processor.

One of the downside of having Garnet is its camera quality which only has 2 megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel front camera. It may not give vivid and clear photos but nevertheless, this will enable users to capture “on-the-spot” moments with friends and family. Connectivity-wise, the device supports WiFi technology for internet with capable speeds and sadly, there’s no 3G chip for the CM Garnet.

Overall, this budget smartphone is truly a valuable gem beyond the price tag. Cherry Mobile Garnet is now available in accredited dealers and kiosks of Cherry Mobile nationwide.
