Unboxing

There's not much to talk about the unboxing. It is simply packaged inside a gray rectangular box. The side of the box features the actual product and its main features - Compact and Portable, Smart Power Distribution, US/UK/EU Plugs, and Superior Safety. Inside the box, we'll see the actual charging brick, some paperworks, and the included international plugs. The box also includes a pouch for easier storage and access of the power brick, plugs, and cables.

In addition to the 65W power brick, we also got three charging cables from Ugreen: 1 x USB-C to USB-C, 1 x USB-C to Lightning, and 1 x USB-A to USB-C to accompany our Power Delivery Fast Charger. These braided cables have one-meter length and are sold separately.

Design, User Experience

The Ugreen GaN X 3-port fast charger is a great device for users like me who travels a lot with multiple devices. Having one fast charging unit saves me the hassle of bringing several chargers, as this particular unit already comes with 2 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port. Both USB-C ports are capable of up to 65W charging, while the USB-A port is rated with up to 22.5 watts. This means that all ports support quick charging.

The device is rated with PD (Power Delivery) feature, which means it's capable of charging a laptop. Apart from this, it is compatible with iOS devices like iPads, iPhones, EarPods, Apple Watch, as well as Android devices, Nintendo Switch, etc.

The Ugreen Fast Charger comes with a sturdy and flame-retardant body made of polycarbonate material. The sleek and modern design with matte black finish gives a secure and comfortable grip, which is especially useful when plugging and unplugging the device. 

The charger's compact size makes it a portable and convenient companion for travel. In contrast with other chargers from the company, the GaN X 65W 3-port charger employs retractable terminals. It also comes with a detachable power cord which makes it easy to swap US/UK/EU plug standards. It's easy to pack and store.

Moreover, I don't have to stress about limited available outlets when I needed to charge my devices simultaneously. It's very useful in my work-from-home setup as I normally have my smartphone, tablet, laptop, and EarPods on my working table. I have to say that the Ugreen GaN X offers me the ease and convenience of charging these essential devices in just one fast-charging unit.

Performance

This charger stands out due to its use of Gallium nitride technology in charging- thus the moniker GaN. This tech allows chargers to be smaller and lighter than traditional chargers of similar power rating (or wattage). Apart from its "one for all" capability, its exceptional fast charging technology is the main highlight of the Ugreen Gan X. We tested the Ugreen GaN 65W with our devices. It took us just 15 minutes to get to 30% battery level and a total of 1 hour and 42 minutes to fully charge my iPhone 13 Pro using either USB-C port 1 or 2; it took a little longer when we use the port 3, this makes sense since it's only rated up to 22.5-watt output power; and the iPhone 13 Pro takes a slightly higher rating at 23-watt.

We charged our Huawei Nova 8 smartphone with 65-watt fast charging support from 0 to 100 percent in just 40 minutes via USB-C 1 65-watt port. Likewise, we charged the Huawei MatePad 11 tablet which supports 22.5-watt fast charging using the USB-A port and we hit 100% in 1 hour and 55 minutes.
