Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 released: Value-For-Money Mid-range Smartphones

Samsung Galaxy A50 is now available in the Philippines. The company is positioning the handset in the mid-range segment in which it offers essential device features including the immersive, long-lasting battery life, and a very capable camera module. All of these features are captured in a very aggressive price standpoint. 

Likewise, Samsung also released the Galaxy A30, a trimmed-down version of the Galaxy A50 for the lower mid-tier segment. The Samsung Galaxy A50 and A30 are two of the most sought-after handsets from the company.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 marquee feature is the triple camera setup into which the company is pegging to "revolutionize" the camera by mimicking the human eye. Samsung employs a 25MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP Live Focus camera.

The handset's 25MP main shooter has an f/1.7 aperture lens which technically clings in detecting more light and reducing noise. On top of that, the Live Focus camera offers legit depth of field. The 8MP ultra-wide camera comes with 123-degree wide-angle shots just like the Galaxy S10 series.

On the front panel, the Galaxy A50 has a 25MP selfie camera for social media selfies. Software-wise, it uses the Selfie Focus which provides artificial blur in the background.

Other noteworthy specs include the long-lasting 4000 mAh battery that supports fast charging technology. The handset also features the Infinity U display which was introduced to us in the Galaxy M series. We will be spoiled by the Galaxy A50's 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel. The Galaxy A50 is powered by an Exynos 9610 Octa-core chipset which is developed in a 10nm process. The SoC is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM for smoother multitasking experience and faster app launching.

The Samsung Galaxy A30 has a similar spec sheet as its more powerful sibling. It's also powered by an octa-core chipset but this time, it's an Exynos 7904. It has lower RAM and storage configuration, and has a physical fingerprint sensor instead of an in-screen sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy A30 is priced at Php 13,990 with Black and White hues. Both the Galaxy A50 and the Galaxy A30 will be available starting March 30. You can pre-order these smartphones from March 16 to 29 through Samsung stores nationwide, Shopee, Memo Express, Lazada, Argomall, and Abenson. All pre-orders come with free JBL Go 2 worth Php 2,299, a mini tripod worth Php 1,499, and a 10,000 mAh battery pack worth Php 1,299. You'll also get a free JBL Go 2 if you buy the Galaxy A30 on March 30 to 31.
