Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 is making waves in the smartphone scene by being the cheapest handset to sport the Snapdragon 845 chipset. For the uninitiated, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 is the current top-of-the-line SoC that are being used by Samsung, OnePlus and other premium brands in their flagship category; thus having this performance in a budget smartphone is definitely a big deal.

The POCOPHONE F1
Hardware
On top of the ultra-premium chipset, the Pocophone F1 will also sport a 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB memory and a LiquidCool Technology. In line with its recent international release, Xiaomi has announced that the Pocophone F1 will also be available in the Philippines in a very competitive price of Php 17,990 on September 6.
Camera
The Pocophone F1 is also a promising device when it comes to mobile photography. The handset will sport a dual 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX363 as the primary sensor. It will also sport an infrared illuminator and infrared camera on the front which will enable the AI face unlock feature to securely unlock the device both in pitch-dark conditions as well as in bright daylight.
Xiaomi’s MIUI for POCO
A forked version of MIUI will run the Pocophone F1. Xiaomi said that it’ll be optimized for Pocophone F1 to have a lighter, faster and smoother experience. The MIUI for POCO is based on Android 8.1 Oreo which, according to the company, will prioritize regular security updates and patches from Google. And it is also promised to receive an Android 9.0 Pie update in the near future.
POCOPHONE F1 Availability in the Philippines
The POCOPHONE F1 will be available in the Philippines in two variants. The 6GB+64GB will be priced at Php 17,990; while the 6GB+128GB will have an asking price of Php 19,990. It will be available initially in Lazada and will eventually reach local Xiaomi concept stores in the near future.
