Xiaomi Mi A1 Android One now official: Specs, Price, Availability

Xiaomi Mi A1 is officially enlisted as part of the Android One program. It's been a while since we saw an Android One smartphone took the spotlight and the Mi A1 surely won't disappoint. Basically, the handset is a Xiaomi Mi 5X only that it boots with stock Android experience and banners a promise of timely updates.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is powered by a Snapdragon 625 which had been proven to be high-performing and battery efficient chipset. And speaking of battery, the Xiaomi Mi A1 packs a decent 3080 mAh.

Likewise, Xiaomi is not shy in comparing the handset to the iPhone 7 Plus, due to the fact that it also comes with a dual-lens camera setup. Both back cameras have 12MP sensor; the secondary camera has a telephoto lens which allows you to capture bokeh effect with blur backgrounds. You'll also have 2X optical zoom feature.

Being in the Android One program, the Xiaomi Mi A1 definitely has Android 8.0 Oreo on its roadmap of updates. Google will support the handset for atmost 3 years.

With regards to its pricing, the Xiaomi Mi A1 has been priced at INR 14,999 in India. If we are to convert it to Philippine Peso, it would be roughly Php 12,000. Considering that the Xiaomi Mi 5X is priced at Php 13,499 locally (in Widget City), it's safe to assume that the Xiaomi Mi A1 will settle in the Php 13K to Php 15K price when it reaches the Philippines.
