Blackberry KEYone is now official. The Canadian company grabs the first official major smartphone announcement of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The Blackberry KEyone is an Android smartphone and it seems like this will be the last smartphone from the Canadian giant.

The marquee feature of the handset is, of course, the physical capacitive keyboard which is integrated with a fingerprint sensor. Apart from the iconic keyboard, the Blackberry KEYone comes with a 4.5-inch FHD display (1080 x 1620 pixels) which frames up to 433 ppi and the latest version of Android operating system. The major driver of the handset is the Snapdragon 625 which is categorized as an upper mid-tier chipset also found in Asus Zenfone 3.
Basically, the SoC includes an octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz speed and Adreno 506 graphics worker. Plus there’s a 3GB of RAM to keep things intact while doing multitasking activities and a native 32GB storage. In case you need more room, there’s a whooping 2TB microSD card support.
Talking about the camera, the Blackberry KEYone packs a 12MP rear shooter with Sony IMX378 sensor. The front camera is an 8MP affair with wide-angle capability. Plus, the handset comes with USB Type C and 4G LTE connectivity.
There’s Android 7.1 Nougat with Blackberry Hub and DETK skinned on top of the user interface. The Blackberry KEYone packs 3505 mAh batter with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 function which the company claims to charge the handset up to 50 percent in just 36 minutes.
The handset is priced at USD 549 which is roughly Php 27,500 basing today’s exchange rates. The Blackberry KEYone will be available in April in United Kingdom. There’s no word yet if it’ll be available in the Philippines.
